2059: Big in Japan (RP Topic)

Thos moved backwards, avoiding the kicks.
“Ex-ter-mi-nate!” He fired again.

OOC: On a somewhat related side note, what kind of attack is the beam and what effects does it have?

IC: Ross is a bit more ready this time, but the close range still lets the bolt land a glancing hit along his torso. Ross attempts to grasp the arm holding the shooter and snap it.

ooc: As stated above, the gunstick was an energy weapon. (TV: The Five Doctors) Although occasionally the energy was invisible, (TV: The Daleks, Death to the Daleks) the discharge beam generally appeared blue. (TV: Genesis of the Daleks, et al.) It had a “negative effect.” Later models and variants exposed the skeletal structure of the victim. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks, et al.)

Early sources of information about the Daleks described being hit by the weapon as akin to being struck by lightning, suggesting the energy involved was roughly analogous to an electric charge. Sometimes victims of the weapons appeared charred. (TV: The Daleks’ Master Plan)

Rachel Jensen, examining the body of a human killed by the discharge of a Renegade Dalek’s gunstick during the Shoreditch Incident, said the cause of death appeared to her to be “massive internal disruption” (paraphrased by the Seventh Doctor as “his insides were scrambled”). (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks) She later theorised that they might have been using plasma weapons. (PROSE: Remembrance of the Daleks)
IC: The metal was quite strong. Thos screeched in annoyance, activating his bottom thrusters and flying up into the air.

OOC: So some mixture of Plasma and Electricity

IC: Ross kept as firm a grip he could, acting as a grounding weight with his considerable weight. He then tries to pull Thos back down, pulling on the zapper arm.

ooc: Basically, yeah.
IC:
Ross succeeds in bringing Thos back to the ground, but the gunstick did not break. It seemed to be made of extraordinarily strong metal.
Thos screeched in anger and fired the gunstick again at Ross.

Thos got squarely hit by the gunstick again, convulsing slightly and leaving his metal armor charred, but seeming to have not as much of an effect as the past bolts did. Seeing as the gunstick seemed to be made of some extremely strong metal, Ross went the route of just trying to force it back into Thos’ body.

Thos screeched, “Ex-ter-mi-nate!” and tried to attach the plunger-like attachment to Ross’ face.

Not really expecting such a move, Thos would find it relatively easy to do so. Ross would immeadaitely forget the gunstick and work on getting the thing off his face, prying at the edges and giving off muffled, but angry, yells.

The manipulator began to create a localized vacuum, sucking all the air out from Ross. If he didn’t get out of it soon, he would suffocate.

ooc:
I just realized how dangerous Daleks really are if approached unaware of their capabilities.

Ross would simply give up prying at the edges, as a pair of holes open up on the back of his neck and a pair of eyes appear just below the point where the neck joins the chest. Ross then puts both feet on Thos and tries to force them apart.

He would succeed.
Thos screeched again in annoyance.

Ross would go back to trying to force the arms back into Thos’ body.

Thos moved his manipulator arm and attempted to whack Ross with it several times.

Ross ignored the whacking arm as he continues his efforts.

Thos screeched angrily, “Let go of me!” He continued to whack at Ross, harder and harder.

As the whacks continued, they affected Ross less and less, all the while Ross continues to try and force Thos’ arms back where they came from.

Ross would fail as he tried.
Eventually, Thos stopped whacking Ross and fired his gunstick at him.

The gunstick would have minimal effect, not hindering Ross’ futile efforts too much.

Thos screeched, “Cease hostile activites!” before moving away from Ross.

Ross let Thos off with a push. “Now scram ya dang bot.”
