I like it, it’s definitely really close to the original set!
Out of pure curiosity, what causes that slight “grainy” texture in some parts of the model?
It’s the program, Blender! It calculates light by sampling each pixel. More samples, less grain. but more samples, more computing time.
Quick tip, may want to go for GPU rendering to get more samples, as well as possibly using environment lighting and multiplicative ambient occlusion to show the detail in the model. As is, your work isn’t being shown off as well as it could be.
Yo I love your comics!
Yeah I am a peasant without a gpu tho lol. Yeah, that AO!
Hey, thanks! Can I see the lighting setup? I’m sure you can win some noise reduction by changing up the lights.
Yeah, it’s just a single plane above with emission material
Ok, definitely try an HDR sky setup if your RAM can handle it, otherwise try a background sky texture with a sun lamp. Also, unless you’re already using it definitely look up “Filmic Blender.” It’s a color management mode that more closely reflects reality than the standard one, and lets you have way brighter scenes without any areas getting TOO bright.
Oh yeah, I’ve used Filmic before.
You worked on B:NG, I saw your work!
Maybe we can keep bionicle alive by making bootlegs of the original sets…
Looks preety good so far
