I have been checking the kickstarter for updates daily, and it is coming soon is all the creators seem to say in their monthly updates. When I funded the kickstarter they said october would be the month everyone gets it. October came and the date was moved to november. Then december and january. They claimed that every backer would have their printer in hand by the end of march in febuary. On the 23rd of march they said that they have started delivery’s. No one other than the lucky 5 have recieved their printers yet, and even the ones that recieved them can’t use them because the app for the phone hasn’t been released yet. I am a very paitent person but even this is beginning to get on my nerves. I would be fine if they were honest and said in october that they would not be able to release for another 5 months but they kept stringing us along.
That being said I am still looking forward to getting mine when I can. I will be doing a review of it for you guys after it arrives and showcase what it can do.
The resin costs $15 per 100ml so it would cost about $3 to make a bionicle mask. I am not sure how much the plastic sheets will cost.
so… my school got a 3d printer, does anyone have any cool pieces for ccbs or just any bionicle masks for free? I just dont feel like paying 20€ for something that is 5x5cm or less
I know, I know, “support the makers” but no, that’s just so much money for me
definitely would like to try it however, none of my designs are up on Shapeways due to the ones I have/ are close to being finished still need optimization to actually work. I do have some free time tomorrow so I definitely would be able to work on that then.
I have actually already seen and downloaded the models and I do have to say that you did a good job on them. Was kinda hoping that they would work in real life but saw that they would need modification to do that.
Thank you. and yes, the mask topology is a little bit weird since I only started using blender for about a year and a half through youtube tutorials. Have you considered trying 3D animation with Bionicle? Its difficult, but once you know the basics, its really fun animating them in blender.
I don’t know much about game engine, but I do recommend using unreal engine instead of Blender’s game engine. If you want, I can recommend this youtube tutorial to start with animation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yiC6pEQMAw
I have actually been wanting to tinker with animating in blender for awhile now but just have not been getting to it. Especially since it would definitely help with some things for the team I am on that is trying to make a fan-made lego game.
@ToaRider these are some great models you have recreated.
As this forum is for 3D modeling(which is not limited to blender) I am going to show one of my most recent projects, a 3D printable nerf attachment:
So I have been learning a program called Fusion 360 and I think it’s really useful when it comes to 3D printing with correct measurement without having to go back each time to resize it. I still love blender and blender will stay as my primary modeling program for now but fusion 360 will be used for 3D printing.
