As you may have noticed, I adore the Anima(tor) Expo and so will you - go watch the first short on the official website before April - and so Iā€™m very excited to see one of the five-minute shorts being stretched out and expanded into two 45-minute TV specials.

What makes the special all the more interesting is the fact that this will be the first animated TV show executed by Studio khara, the somewhat new studio led by Hideaki Anno (the Evangelion/Gunbuster guy).

And speaking of Gunbuster: man, Diebuster sure is fun! Where the original Gunbuster was more serious struggle against interstellar space bugs without the absurdity of Starship Troopers, the sequel is an intense burst of light-hearted super robot action.
