Arena Battle II (RP topic)

Q’uiin defends himself by generating radiation that destructively intrferes with the lasers. He slams his hammer into the ground and hurls whatever broken rock he finds at Nexus.

Nexus would ignore the rocks hitting his protosteel armor and would fire the charged blast of energy, followed by a volley of 3 explosive mini-cordak missiles.

Q’uiin brandishes his hammer again, this time manipulating a magnetic field that causes the energy blast to split and deflect into the cordak shots. “I can do this all day, terran, but how long can you stay in the air?”

OOC: How does magnetism do that?

IC: The explosion of the cordaks would make an immediate response impossible as well as obscure vision for a bit, but a Nexus would respond eventually. “Effectively forever.” He said, as well as sending another mini cordak blast in Q’uiin’s general direction.

OOC: I’m assuming the energy blast is some kind of charged particle beam and/or straight up just light itself. If this is the case, a magnetic or electric field can be used to deflect the path.

IC: Q’uiin doesn’t see it in time, his vision too focused on scrying Nexus through the Cordak explosion. He leaps to avoid the brunt of the impact, but is thrown across the arena. He comes to a roll to make sure he doesn’t fall flat on his face.

OOC: Fair

IC: Nexus follows Q’uiin in the air, still keeping a good distance away, and fires a charged blast of energy towards him.

Q’uiin rolls out of the way and hurls his hammer at Nexus when he comes up.

Nexus extends a power carver blade out of his knee and attempts to slice the hammer with it, firing another charged blast at Q’uiin in an attempt to catch him defenseless.

Q’uiin is caught off guard and is knocked prone by the blast. But the hammer proves much too dense for the simple power carver to scratch and it slams into Nexus’ chest with the force of a trireme at ramming speed.

The Power Carver would barely manage to gain a foothold in the server before the power carver would snap and the remaining force would hit Nexus. Fortunately protosteel is a durable material and the suit sure had a lot of it, but it wouldn’t save Nexus from being knocked back and into the wall on the opposite side of the arena. After recovering from the initial shock of it all Nexus would begin to roll over and flip the hammer off of him.

This gives Q’uiin enough time to rise and see what happened. He telekinetically wields his hammer and causes it to slam his foe’s chest repeatedly when Nexus tries to shove it off him.

Nexus gets caught in between the hammer and floor several times before he manages to slide out from underneath the hammer with his flight kanoka tech. Then he flies slightly up and makes a beeline for the currently weaponless Q’uiin, extending an intact Power Carver from his other knee. He does this as fast as possible, not bothering to spin or flip around or do anything else that may waste time.

Q’uiin engages in a defensive stance and goances behind Nexus. The Martian prepares for his foe to come within reach, despite the carver in his opponent’s hand.

Nexus continues to fly towards Q’uiin, the Power Carver still extended outward from his knee toward Q’uiin. Nexus misses Q’uiin’s small movements, and so doesn’t change his course or anything to account for whatever the Martian is planning.

Nexus flies into the midst of Q’uiin’s grappling technique. The Martian ducks beneath Nexus’ body at the last second, his legs wrapping around his foe’s waist from behind and directing his motion into the ground. (So they’re flipping). When he gets on top, his hammer reaches his hands and he attempts to use the handle to try and choke out his opponent.

OOC: The assumption that I’m making is that Nexus is flying low to the ground, attempting to gouge Q’uiin with the carver.

Suddenly, the gong was struck, signifying the end of the match.
“Stop! The fight has now concluded. Warriors, please step forward so that the winner may be declared.” The Gamemaster announced.

Q’uiin wasn’t sure how to react to this. The fight had onky just begun in his mind.

Nexus would get caught by the grapple, his position being focused on beating the hammer’s return and not on adapting to whatever his opponent would do. However Q’uiin’s attempt to choke him out would be in vain, considering Nexus was essentially just a large mech. Nexus began to make a retaliatory move when the gong stopped him in his tracks, and he glanced up from his inconvenient position towards the Gamemaster, not quite sure what to make of the untimely interruption.

OOC: fresh meat incoming
IC: Maki, Jarka, and the Toa of Ice Ataro were relaxing on the beach of Po Okio, after a hard day’s work of doing things to help out in Po Okio after it turned out their Turaga was an evil Makuta and had been having buildings torn down, people arrested, and some people who conspired against him even publicly executed. Several people had to be escorted off of Prison Island with the help of the Toa because of the Manas crabs guarding the only way off the island. So yeah, this was a well deserved break. It was short lived, however, as the mailman from Po Okio came running across the beach carrying 2 scrolls in his mailbag. He arrived at the Toa’s side as they sat in the sun. He caught his breath,

“Mail for Maki and… Jarka.” He said, handing the scrolls over to them. They both opened their scrolls in unison and it read, well, as it reads.

“Hmm…” Jarka said, pondering the offer.

Maki replied, “Are you kidding me? You need to think about this? We make a great team, and that’s 15 million widgets!”

“What on here says we’re allowed to fight together? Please, I would love for you to show me.” Jarka said, unamused by his friend’s enthusiasm.

“Well, I wouldn’t fight unless we could do it together.”

“But who’s going to protect Le Okio? You know Rexias can’t protect them on his own, a firespitter like Gavi is not welcome in Le Okio, and neither is Tevalt.”

“What about Ataro?” She says, and they both glance over at him. He just chuckles and smiles.

“Don’t worry, I can protect Le Okio while you guys are gone. But if you’re back with the prize money, use some of it to buy us all a steamed Pewku-crab feast.” Ataro says, and they agree to this. They both sign their names on the paper and hand it back to the mailman. Ataro gets up and gets into his ATMC (all-terrain-motor-cycle) and zooms off from the sandy beaches onto the shining water. The mailman returns to the Po Okio Post Office while Maki and Jarka just… sit and wait.

The Gamemaster looked between Q’uiin and Nexus for a moment. Before he could make a decision, however, he received a note from an agent.

“…It has come to my attention that we have some last-minute fighters joining the tournament.” He announced, as a nearby gate slowly opened. “please welcome…Maki, and Jaka!”
