I thought Amon was a good bad guy, and the two-parter in season 2 about the origins of the Avatar was pretty good. Other than that…yeah, apart from the very end of Season 2, not much happens that has lasting consequences.

Wan’s story is fantastic. It’d probably be best to watch it before diving into B3 and B4 since there are a few references to Rava in the latter two seasons.
Good? He’s still my favourite thematic villain in the entire Avatar universe. I love that guy to death. He’s probably the only main reason I’d rewatch B1 again.

Season 2 introduced some great characters but overall it felt like a messy filler arc.
As for the KorrAsami, I think the hand holding was the furthest I would’ve bought in. They did spend more time together and became closer in the last two seasons but as far as we know they weren’t an item until the last episode or so. The pairing didn’t come completely out of left field, but going full yuri at a moment’s notice would’ve been off-putting. Not that I would’ve been upset.
