Eljay vs. Jang's Reviews

Wow, Ima apologize for that, I really shouldn’t let late night Lobster write any posts…

his voice isn’t monotone, if you have keen ears like mine you could determine that.

…I think my ears are perfectly fine. Maybe we just have different definitions of “monotone”.

I mean it’s really hard to compare the two. Jang obviously has a TON of money from whatever computer job he had, while Eljay is a twentysomething. Jang can be more professional because of his situation, and the fact that his channel is the most popular LEGO review channel on Youtube gives him an edge (he was also the fisrt channnem I subbed to ). Back when I first subbed to Jang, he was first branching out from constraction, which led to his enourmous growth, while Eljay is limited by TTV’s content. It’s like comparing the New York Times to a local newspaper, look nicer, more stuff, more people read it. Sorry that I went on so long :pensive:

I’d argue that Jang has anything but a monotone voice. He has plenty of inflection, style, humour and energy.

Yeah, but I only watch him for the Ninjago and Bionicle reviews…I watch any one for the BIONICLE reviews.

Hmm…I just watched some more of his videos, and I suppose I can understand what you mean. So in the end, I lose again. :no_mouth:

TBH, I haven’t watched Jang’s reviews. With that in mind, I’d say Eljay.
Here’s why:
All hail Emperor Rljay
He helps me identify where I got the pieces I have, and what I am missing from thise sets.
He has given me a reason to go on YT.

Eljay stop being salty.

I accidentally read the title as Eljay VS Bojangles.

Jang’s reviews are kinda boring IMO.

For what reasons?

Eh, they just don’t excite me.

Set Reviews are like rules: generally kinda boring reads/views. But some people can make them exciting (I direct you to Rac’s How-to Topic for a good example of some interest)

So, basically, I find reviews boring in general, and Jang doesn’t do anything to excite them for me.

I find that he’s more vibrant then most other reviewers. His narration is dynamic, the camerawork is very professional and there’s always something notable being said/shown.

perhaps he is more drawn to Eljay and finds Jang boring because of their personalities, Whilst Eljay has quite an interesting one, from the videos I watched, Jang doesn’t have much if one, and if he does, it’s one that people probably will not remember as well as the wacky guy wearing a homemade miru

I like both reviewers, but I think Eljay wins for me just in terms of style and presentation. Less professional, perhaps, but more enjoyable and informative. I won’t say Jang doesn’t have personality, but it doesn’t show through in quite the same way, and as an unfortunate result, even if he’s saying the exact same things as Eljay, the way he’s saying it makes half the info go in one ear and out the other.

But again, none of that is to disrespect Jang or say he’s a bad reviewer; it’s just been my personal experience.
