I looked to see if a topic like this existed, but I guess not. I may be wrong, though. You guys can correct me and I’ll make sure to post there instead.
But if not, I wanted to ask: What’s your favorite film? It doesn’t have to be good. It doesn’t have to be bad. Here we can discuss our favorite films we treasure whenever they come on.
Personally, I enjoy a lot of classic films. One of my favorite films ever is William Wyler’s Ben-Hur, which starred Charleton Heston. Sure, its’ pretty long, but the story, the music, the directing, and the overall timeless look make this movie grand. I mean, look at this clip below. Sure, it looks a bit old, but can you compare it to today’s standards? It still had the intense and thrilling action we know and love today.
My all-time favourite is 2001: A Space Odyssey. I’ve become speechless after two films: 2001 and End Of Evangelion, which was highly influenced by 2001.
I’ll have to break it up into some categories, and any given category may contain more than one film.
Also, I’ll only be including movies from the 20th century in this post.
(Warning: the following list is presented in no particular order and may lack certain movies that I cannot think of at the moment.)
##Domestic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) The Hunt for Red October (1990) Jurassic Park (1993) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) TRON (1982)
##Foreign Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1993) Godzilla vs Destoroyah (1995) Godzilla vs Biollante (1989) Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) Godzilla vs Mothra (1992) Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995) Gamera 2: Advent of Legion (1996) Gamera 3: Revenge of Irys (1999)
Hmm… This is really making me think…
Forrest Gump is a great movie.
Alien is also pretty good. Aliens is also pretty good, but I’m more of an Alien kind of guy.
