Blake came running back as fast as he could panting heavily. “What the hell happ…end.” He said looking at the animal, quickly leaning down to inspect the wounds of the beast. He went silent as he stood back up after running his finger over a large gash made from a bite mark on the beasts neck.
“We need to run, before they find their prey.” He said scared.
“What are they?” Butch asked as they ran.
Before they could even get a head start something barked Loudly at the group behind them. Blake Stopped and Turned around to see three animals standing near them. They were all at chest height as they stood there frozen in place, the front of their head was covered in a hardened shell that ran down all the way to the end of their backs. Two large teeth proded from the front of their head, as a single lower one was pointed towards the middle of the two. Their legs also had a shell run down its leg as the three dug their claws into the ground. No eyes could be seen on them, yet they were staring dead ahead at everyone.
“Listen to me everyone. Stay quiet breath slowly and back away slowly. Try not to make a single ounce of sound or else.” Blake said on a private comm as he stared right back at them.
Leo slowly backed up. Samuel and Sarah followed.
Kyanna did as instructed, taking only small breaths as she moved slowly
Blake stayed in front of everyone as Kailtynn backed away keeping eye contact with them.
He waited for everyone to be far enough before he would begin falling back. One little sound could send these things into an attack. And that was something he knew would only spell death for Daylight.
Kyanna kept moving slowly
Blake finally began backing away only to step on a twig and have it snap. He went pale as the creatures growled and charged at the group.
“RUN!” Blake yelled grabbing his sniper and desperately fired at the three creatures the bullets barley cracking the shell.
Kyanna ran with the others
Leo ran with the group. He pulled out a grenade.
Mariana retreated with the others, gripping her shotgun tightly as it had more punch than her BR.
Cabis turned and ran
Butch shouted for them to stop.
“■■■■■■ Butch Run! There’s a small cliff up with a lake at the bottom! we jump in there we can lose them!” Blake told him as the animals were close on Daylight, one was close on Kyanna as it was readying to pounce.
Mariana glanced back at the Delgato closing in on Kyanna, so she quickly turned and fired at it’s head with her shotgun, hoping to distract it enough to give Kyanna her lead back. Then Mariana turned and started running for the cliff and the lake at the bottom.
It shook his head from the blast, but the shell was cracked no doubt, as it roared in anger and attempted to pounce on Kyanna.
Blake turned around and readied his sniper again taking a deep breath and aiming at one of the Delgatos not seeing the one attempting to pounce Kyanna. He fired the rifle at it, luck decided to have shown mercy upon him as the Delgato roared, until for the bullet to enter its mouth and tear through the animal killing it.
Mariana made it to the cliff, and glancing back again as she ran, noticed the damage to the Delgato’s shell.
She stopped at the cliff, and racked the slide on her shotgun halfway, ejecting the spent shell and making a loud clicking sound. If that would get the Delgato’s attention, then she was poised to hold the slide on her shotgun and fire the remaining seven shells at the same rate as a BR or DMR.
Mariana just needed a Delgato to charge her, especially the one she had already wounded.
Leo sprayed his SMG at the delgato trying to attack Kyanna hoping he’d take its attention.
As she waited. The third Delgato that had been unharmed focused on Mariana, and paused as it started to growl at her. Mariana didn’t wait for it to make it’s move. She raised her shotgun, and began firing. Slowly advancing on it to get closer and make the shotgun shells more effective, as she fired at the Delgato’s head five times in succession.
The first two shells cracked it’s armor, the third drew blood. Shotgun shells four and five caused noticeable damage to it’s head, causing the Delgato to go silent, and slump over.
Adrenaline took over Kyanna’s systems as she ran faster
