Are you referring to the little gap between the torso and waist? Or the height differences?
The proposed use of the maul hip piece does not alter the height, and the hero legs look funky

I think the point of the piece was that the matoran would be normal sized, with the toa being slightly taller.
But you’re right, the HF legs look off here.
I still think the short legs work the best, even if they aren’t poseable. But yeah, the Maul waist piece doesn’t work too well for this purpose.
