Okotan Adventures: Spider Saga

Ekimu nods. “That’s unfortunate. Being proactive against him will be hard, then, until we know more.”

“Vizuna was unclear with which areas of the jungle he wished to search. Pheore traveled to the capital to learn of his whereabouts; retracing her steps is likely your first course of action.”

He nodded. “Alright, will do.”

Keya stayed silent for a second. “So, um…what are we doing?” She asked, having missed most of the conversation.

“I agree with Dax; safety comes first, even if it does mean taking the longer path.” Blaze said.

“You are gathering allies,” Ekimu states, leveling a purposeful look at Hitora. “Do not underestimate the peril should you attempt this alone.”

“I won’t.” He responds, his expression staying neutral.

Unsure of what exactly she missed, Keya just goes along with it.

Jevis just glances at him for a second, then continues on his way toward the building.

Dakron nodded in agreement. He mimed stepping on a loose rock, falling, and then he shook his head. He clearly had something against loose rocks.

Gladius silently groaned at the mention of Blaze. Yes, he would force himself to be glued to Blaze for the duration of the journey. Yes, he would regret every waking moment of agreeing to do this now that Blaze was involved. But that’s simply how it must go, it seems.

A thought passed his mind. Yes, it could be dangerously stupid, but if Ekimu’s runed cells worked like he had heard…

“A suggestion.” He hazarded. “Would the Lord of the… Whatever it is he is the lord of, be capable of ‘assisting’? I am not aware of what condition he is in currently, but surely he must not be capable of much escape.”

Melody cooked a meal in the kitchen, she needed to go out and do what she can to help Symphony and the others, but right now Sonata needed her.

Erebos journeyed closer to the Water Village, he thought about entering it but wasn’t sure what their reaction would be. Either way it wouldn’t be of much help in his quest.

Symphony watches the grated ceiling of his cell, watching what happened through the metal bars. Time sure was an unforgiving beast.

Xol wakes and gets up rather quickly, it was time to move again, who knew if any of his family was after him, to bring him back. He packs all his things and finds a gukko pad and pays for a ride for the City of Mask Makers.

Within the temple The Collected appeared to have… been having a relapse of sorts… To say Ekimu would find himself low on some materials (if not outright in need of restocking) would be putting it lightly…
He also appeared to have begun to become a bit… further descended into his erratic madness following his… loss of company. And with this descent came some rather odd creations.

Masks that looked like they were switched through multiple different designs as they were made, some cracked, burnt, and/or clearly useless, and some not, odd tools of seemingly useless function, and just clumps of ‘metal’… bars, all of unknown composition littering the area around him as he stood at the relit forge, hammering… something into shape as he stared down upon it with unnerving intensity.

His arms were also showing a number of new injuries, along with the… ‘burns’ (if such of that intensity and damage could even be called that) gained when he saved Blaze from his foolish choice of attempting to activate one of The Collected masks of unknown make.

“I wouldmpersonally choose the shorter way. I think me and you can make it. Capella, I think you can help your uncle make it out. The only one who I have doubs can follow us is…”
She said, pointing to Dakron.

Athena sighed and facepalmed on her Gukko.
“Fine. You can come with me to the city. But when we arrive there you leave me alone and go search for your friend.”

Vladin was waiting on the armchair from the living room for the dinner to be ready.

Ghabix suddenly heard somebody running outside his garden. Then another one. Then another one. A scream then broke the eternal silence of the desert. Both screams and running Okotoans were extremely rare in his village, so he decided to leave and investigate.

Dakron, not seeing the pointing, did nothing.

Streke nodded. “Thank you.”

OOC: great uncle or just uncle to be exact.

IC: Capella nods
“we could definitely make it.”

She said nothing.

After some time, Icar called that dinner was ready.

“I’ll do what I can to help.” Blaze promised Rena.

The vendor shrugs and moves his attention to another passerby. A few people seem to be moving towards the building, but not as many as move around it. As he approaches, the Fire Okotan would be able to see that much of the area the building sits on has been transformed into a garden, waterfalls splitting into hundreds of little streams that weave and carve their way through rocks and roots alike. Various paths wind through the garden, all ultimately leading to a staircase hewn into the stone. At the top of the stairs, a circular doorway awaits.

“That,” Ekimu says, “is a good question. I will look into this at a later time; I am unsure as to how cooperative he will remain, and any attempt to judge this will take no small amount of time. Now, it seems as if Hitora wishes to pursue Vizuna; Gladius, Azure, do you wish to accompany him or to combat the Dark Mist?” (@Tarkur)

The four guards arrive in the temple. One ducks off to find a Mask of Stone; the other three slowly move towards The Collected.

“Er… greetings, Collected. Ekimu wishes your presence in the city. We are to escort you to him.” One of them takes note of Blaze’s memo nearby.

Gladius’ eyebrows crinkled. “If they are as dangerous as you say they are, it will take more than just the two of us to combat them. No, we had better accompany Hitora for now, and wait until we have amassed a more numerous force to tackle the Dark Mist. If Symphony does something jeopardizing during that time it will be on his own head.”

“Yeah what he said.” Azure commented (@jayzor17)

“All right.” Rena said, arriving at the edge of the bridge. “Then that way.” She said, going westwards.

Vladin jumped off the armchair and started looking for the kitchen.

After a while, the city could be seen through one huge whole in the ocean of clouds.
@meepinater

Ghabix exited his “garden”. He soon realised that almost all of the 300 Okotoans that were living jn the village were gathered in the centre of it.

Ekimu nods in solemn agreement. “Understood.” He looks around for the return of the guards with The Collected and, hopefully, Blaze.
