On August 21st 2018, we lost a legend. Icelandic actor Stefan Karl Stefansson, known for his role as Robbie Rotten on the children’s TV show “Lazy Town” passed away after a two year-long battle with cholangiocarcinoma (otherwise known as bile duct cancer)
I have had fond memories watching Lazy Town when I was younger and it’s such a shame to lose a part of my childhood. Whilst many remember the songs the internet fell in love with such as “We are Number One” and “You are a Pirate” we can not forget how much of an impact Lazy Town and Stefan had on us.
Very sad news. I always thought Lazy Town was a little silly (even though that was the point), and I never really watched it, but he was the most memorable aspect of the show for me. Plus, his character is inherently memeable, which is always a plus.
Condolences to his loved ones and family, and may he rest in peace.
