I'm interested in tagging along, now that the semester ended, so tell me how this sounds...
Skills: (physical endurance)
1) Ability to speak/understand Skakdi
2) Forging, mending, and improving armour, and occasionally weapons
3) Charisma (not of the manipulative sort; he is simply a likable, nice guy)
4) Able to easily modify the coloration of his armour to disguise himself
5) Formerly trained in large hammers and maces; after his left arm was damaged, he uses the lighter Naginata, and he is proficient with it.
Items: his old Welding gear and blowtorch, a Naginata polearm (Spear category), and a fishing tool for his journey
Aspects: Physical 5 HP 1 Def, Combat 5 HP 1 Def, Social 5 HP 1 Def, Willpower 5 HP, 1 Def
Looks: He is grey and gold with burnt orange armour and a burnt orange, powerless Kakama.
Meniira was once a skilled smith on Zakaz, where he outfitted Skakdi with various custom armour and weapons. It was here he learned the Skakdi's native tongue. After Spiriah's experiments, he fled the island after a crazed Skakdi inflicted permanent damage to one of his arms, and settled on Nynrah. His "right-hand" man mysteriously disappeared one day, and he has sailed far and wide in search of his friend. This search has led him at last to the enigmatic Island of Rangi Motu to the south.
He is polite and thoughtful, and those who know him well hold his honour in high esteem.
-His missing forge assistant is a Ta-Matoran, though other than that I haven't fleshed him out or considered why he might be on Rangi Motu. Am I supposed to leave that to you?
-I have never RPG'ed before, so please be patient with me
-His left arm is badly mangled, and so is unable to support the weight of large weapons or objects. It is capable of gripping the backend of his Naginata, but his right arm does all the heavy-lifting and swinging. He cannot forge with it either, and so requires another Matoran to help him forge.
-I chose a Naginata in particular, because they are historically utilized by women or those with less upper body strength, or, alternatively, by men such as the Sohei Warrior monks in unseating and combatting mounted Samurai (or in this case, Matoran). With Meniira's mangled left arm, it makes the most sense for him.
-Skill number 4 is based upon the what the Iron tribe did on Bara Magna
How I got into the game:
@Gilahu actually invited me to try it, and I agreed to see how it works out! I've never had real people (IRL ppl I mean) I could talk to about Gen 1 that were as invested as I am, and with my passion for writing, this seems like a happy medium to accomplish both. I also feel G1 sorely needs some good worldbuilding, and @Katuko, from what I can see here, you look like the guy to do it.
