Beth passes him a plate with a few brownies.

Beth smiles as she leans against him.

Beth giggles. “Of course dear.”
Ash finishes eating and uses the ashes from the fire to make a small ball. The ashes turn white and he makes it launch into the sky, a trail of ash tailing behind it and making it look like a flying star. The higher it got, the bigger it got, and he started to ignite smoldering blue embers so it looked like a blue star flying around in the sky. I hope you can see this, Oliver.

The ashes dissipate and float down to the desert below, and Ash gives a relaxed sigh. He puts out the fire and lays down. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store for me. I’m thinking of heading south.
