Kota holds her hand against his head. The worst thing to happen to a chameleon.
“she’s clear to leave, but she needs to come back tomorrow.” notified the doctor.
“And I’ll make sure she gets here. Thanks, Doc,” Kota says as he tries to help Alice stand up. “Just use me as support. Don’t be afraid.” Natalie looks devastated.
Alice stands up and Toko jumps on her shoulder.
As Kota slowly walks with her, he says to Toko, “Toko, you need to help her as much as you possibly can from now on, okay?” Natalie follows, also holding Alice’s hand.
Toko meows, as Alice stumbles.
Kota and Natalie both support her. They walk out into Lomaki’s streets as head for home. Some of the villagers notice and make way for them.
Toko sees something shiny down an ally way and takes off after it.
“Toko! Natalie, help Alice while I get Toko,” Kota says.
“Be careful!” Natalie says as she walks home with Alice. Kota shifts into a coyote and chases Toko. Swear to gods, if this elicits deja vu.
A little away Toko was sitting there, pawing at an old ring.
Kota approaches cautiously.
Shifting back toko picks up the ring, studying it.
Kota shifts back as well. “Toko, at least say when you’re gonna run into an alley. You could’ve gotten lost, or worse!”
“sorry.” She says, scared of any possible repercussions.
Kota looks at the ring. “So, what’s this?”
Toko shrugs, before pocketing it.
“Come on, we should go back home with Natalie and Alice.”
Natalie opens the door and leads Alice to the couch.
Alice trips over her train that she had left out.
Toko motions her arms up at Kota.
Kota picks her up and gives her a piggyback ride to the house.
Natalie catches her. “Easy, easy. The couch is right here.” She helps her sit.
“thank you.” Replies Alice, sitting down.
“Weeee!” Says an excited Toko.
