Salvation: Part II

Salvo was still in the armory, repairing her mech, though Thrift had left.

“Ma’am?” Laslow asked.

Salvo looks down at Laslow from the shoulder of her mech.

“You figure out what’s what with One-eye’s toy?” she asks him.

“It’s exactly what we thought it was, a scrambler rifle, though it only works on non-living metal.”

SideStep inspected the Mechanimal.

“Huh. That’s a relief, I guess,” Salvo comments.

The mechanimal was of the same species as Ravage, one of Soundwave’s deployers. It sported blood-red armor adorned with white stripes, and had a pair of micro-missile pods mounted above its hind legs.

The cat was in stasis, slumbering peacefully in the pod.

SideStep tried to open the pod.

SideStep is successful, and the feline falls out of the pod as its door swings open with a hiss. Its yellow eyes flicker to life as it groggily looks around the lab.

SideStep crouches in front of the mechanimal, holding out his hand for it to sniff.

Song entered inside, not sure which side she should take.

The feline regards SideStep suspiciously, sniffing the air.

Brainpan and the current occupant of the lab stand off, eyeing each other as they each stand their ground.

“Hi.”

Blight did as was proposed, though occasionally trembling.

“You ready man?” Delta asked, raising her fists into the air.

“N- I mean, I guess so?” Blight shrugged, mirroring her actions.

“Right then!” she said, before lunging madly at him.

“Gah!” Blight shrieked, throwing himself to the side.

“Come back here!” she said before going for a punch at his face.

Brainpan looks over her shoulder at Wildsong.

“C’mon, back me up here,” she says.

“We are the new scientists, send in by Thunderblast. We can’t find our labs.” she explained.
