Salvation: Part II

There was none to speak of.

The Omega Key does nothing in response to this.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ nods.

As SideStep walked, he would notice that some of the smaller cyberglyphs on the ground weren’t following the circular paths of their fellows. They lined up with each other to form a path, flanked by thin lines of green light that cut into the earth.

“Hey, look at those. They’re forming a sort of path, I think.” SideStep said, pointing at them. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:6689, topic:49995”]

“Hm.”
Lightshift and Vigor looked around, searching for anything that seemed unordinary or out of place.

Zepar was also looking for any sort of clue in the area.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ and Breakswitch look down.

“And so they are…” the captain seems to agree.

The only glyphs to have turned blue in the valley were the ones around the river. A pulse of white light begins to run through them, following the running water to the south.

“Should we check out that river?”

SideStep begins to follow the path.

Zepar nods, “It’s as good a place to start as any.”

The three brothers nod and make their way towards the river.

Zepar wasn’t far behind them. Shadowraker popped out from her resting place on the Angelicon’s back armor and began flying above the group, keeping pace with them.

Eventually, the three leave the forest, through the path continued toward the mountains on the horizon. ■■■■■■■■■■■■ and Breakswitch assume their vehicle modes.

The river itself seemed perfectly ordinary. Fish adorned with bright-red scales dart through the clear water.

Shadowraker kept her optics peeled for anything that she may find interesting (probably something shiny, threatening or like a nice little snack for the cryocondor).

Zepar cast his gaze towards his surroundings for anything that seemed out of place.

From far away, Shadowraker could make out the figure of a twenty-foot tall bot standing on a cliff, wrapped completely in a ragged grey cloak that rippled in the breeze. Only the figures piercing blue eyes shown from between the rags covering his face as he looks down upon Zepar and the Splitter brothers.

Shadowraker caws at Zepar, who looks to see his animal companion suddenly dart off towards a cliff face. “I think Shadowraker found something.” He called to the Splitter brothers (@meepinater) before he took flight after his bird.

As Shadowraker approached the figure, she looked at them curiously, not sure if they were a threat or not. Maybe not, seeing as how this stranger would’ve started shooting at her if they were an enemy. The Cryo-Condor stops to hover a cautious distance from this figure so she had room to maneuver if they did attack.

The cloaked figure calmly looks up at Shadowraker, regarding the cryo-condor with a passive gaze.

Zepar soon flew to hover near is mechanimal, “Ba weep granna weep ninny bong.” He said to this cloaked figure, also using the accompanying hand gestures of the Universal Greeting.

SideStep did the same, speeding up and following the path. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:6697, topic:49995”]

The Splitter Brothers took off after Zepar.

The cloaked figure repeats Zepar’s hand gestures, and glimpses of deep-blue metal could be seen through the ribbons of cloth on his hands.

SideStep, Breakswitch, and ■■■■■■■■■■■■ would arrive at the base of a mountain. There, the trail of glyphs began to wind up the mountainside, while before our heroes stood a round door sunken into the stone.

“Well, whattaya know,” SideStep said, transforming back into robot mode and looking up at the door.
“Guess we found our fragment.”

The figure raises his arm and points his index finger toward the south, not saying a word.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ and Breakswitch revert to robot mode. The captain’s shoulder cannon extends is barrel.

“If this is the place, the fragment will no doubt be guarded,” he assumes.

Thrust looks towards that direction.

SideStep hefts his rifle.
“Let em try and stop us.” He growls.

The trail of blue geoglyphs lit by the Omega Key stretched on in that direction.

“Indeed,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ says with a smirk. Breakswitch draws her pistols, and the navigator approaches the door.
