The Bionicle G1/G2 Connection Theory Topic

My theory is that okoto is actually artakha, ekimu is artakha, and the okotans are the matoran sent to artahka and they were brainwashed to believe their okotans. Oh, and the toa are just random toa whose names are changed in honor of the toa mata who artakha created.

Here’s my theory: (more like an idea)

G2 is way in the past, and Okoto is in the Great Ocean on Spherus Magna. The G2 story happens as we know it; The Toa arrive from the stars, Makuta is defeated, the good guys win.

But, unbeknownst to them, Makuta’s spirit survives. Even after Okotoan society crumbles away and the island sinks into the sea, Makuta’s spirit remains. Drifting across the ocean, he eventually comes across the Great Beings during the Core War.

Then, just as the Makuta would later do to other characters in the G1 story, Makuta tries mind-controlling them. But the Great Being’s mental powers are too strong, and Makuta is weak. All he can do is subconsciously guide/manipulate them on their path of creation, the final product of which Makuta hopes he can one day use for his gain. This results in the Great Spirit Robot. While doing so, Makuta also plants the idea (and names) of elemental warriors in the minds of the Great Beings. This is accidental on his part.

All that is left is for Makuta to put himself into this new body. But he is weak, and cannot do so without catching the attention of the Great Beings. Seizing an opportunity, he integrates his spirit with a new substance created by the Great Beings, known as Antidermis. He does this because Makuta knows that this substance will eventually be formed into powerful warriors inside the Matoran Universe, since he saw the idea in the minds of the Great Beings. It is not preferable to him, but he knows that he must somehow get his spirit inside the robot, even if he is not controlling it.

But, the substance is powerful, even in its shapeless form, and overpowers Makuta’s mind, suppressing/destroying all of his memories and knowledge of the Matoran Universe. Makuta is effectively killed by the Antidermis. However, enough of his spirit remains to eventually set the new warrior species on the path of darkness.

(And to name the species after himself)

This story explains the link, and differences, between the G1 and G2 Toa, as well as the G1 species Makuta and the G2 character Makuta.

It also explains why the Great Beings built a really big robot, rather than a spaceship or something. That doesn’t generally seem like an intuitive solution to me.

(Another thing that could happen is the Great Beings recovering the G2 Mask of Time to turn it into the Great Disks.)
