“Smells wonderful,” Valerie replies. “Maybe save some for dear Candall. He’s busy giving off a heroic speech.”

“Or perhaps a warning, one to all who aspire to be like bloodfang.”

“That works as well,” Candall nods. “I just need ya to help me with that. So don’t go alone, Ernesto. We like ya sticking around.”

Candall smells the venison. “Perhaps dinner would suffice in coming to agreement? That game smells heavenly.”

“We shall see, my friend. We shall see.”

Candall sits down next to his wife as he takes some of the meat and chows down.

“Goodness, I thought you said you weren’t a barbarian,” Valerie replies. She takes out a set of forks and plates. “C’mon, eat properly.”

Candall slaps the meat upon the plate and stabs it with his fork. He saws at the meat aggressively. “I’m just hungry. This night feels like it’s gone on for a week.”

The Heroes have stayed a bit too long in the forest, which was no covered by nothing but by the darkness of the night. In the navy blue sky which was full of beautiful stars, there was the pale moon, it seemed a bit larger than normal. Probably because the moon was so close to the earth, that it made it look so big, but there wasn’t anything too abnormal about it. The food was ready and it looked like our heroes were about to have dinner, how unfortunate for them.

Because of their bickering, arguing, fussing and moving around. It has caused some unpleasant attention. Certainly, no one took in count the large roar beast, perhaps it wasn’t too obvious but now, perhaps it would. As they could hear light earthquake movements that were coming towards them. The shadows of the night would cover this large monstrosity, it was very tall, one could tell by the red eyes it had. It stood about 8 and a half feet tall with a broad build, a large left arm, and a normal-sized right arm. It was furry with white hair, once the creature approached the Heroes closer they were able to get a look on it.

It was a Cleric Beast, something that is very rare, it was only but a myth, which was now standing in front of them. Its red eyes, blood-lusting after our Heroes…

It suddenly roared, they could see the muscle of this beast tensing as the roar was so loud, it overshadowed that of a lion and was comparable to a t-rex. Once it finished it glanced at them, ready to strike and the main Sapphire Owls noticed this.

“Oh hell no…” Will took out his sword. “It’s a Cleric Beast!” He calls out. “Everyone ready your weapons!!” The Cleric Beast would lunge after them, it was so big. It overshadowed our heroes as well with its mass.

Candall suddenly hears Will’s call, and places his helmet on quickly, and takes upon his sword and shield. Valerie picks up her sword as well, and places on her mask and hat to be in her Marybird disguise.

“Finally, something we can deal with,” Candall shouts and swings his claymore to prepare his aim.

“Not so sure 'bout myself, dear!” Marybird cries out.

“Foul beast, prepare to face the bite of my claws!” Ernesto shouted, barreling towards the beast.

Reyna rolled out of the way and drew her bow. “Fran!” She called, tossing Miss Porcelain her estoc. “Why couldn’t we just go to sleep.” She mutters, staying near the fire as she drew a few arrows.

The Cleric Beast landed on the ground, with an incredibly heavy thud. The ground beneath its feet, slightly cracked as it smashed its fist on the ground at the two. Roaring out of rage, this beast was out for blood.

The Cleric Beast gets stumbled back because of Ernesto. But Ernesto would have the beast’s left hand, which was the dominant, powerful, coming at him with a destructive punch at his face.

Reyna’s arrows would get deflected, because they hit the back of the Cleric Beast, its hide was so thick, it acted as natural armor. But perhaps, its more white skin was less durable as its back hide…

Reyna tried to think, then got an idea. She set the tips of her arrows alight using the fire, then ran around to the front, drawing them back and firing at the front of the neck, firing two at once.

Candall stumbles a bit, but regains his footing. With his claymore, he tries to slash at the creature’s chest.

Marybird, meanwhile, prances away, looking around for a weakpoint on the beast. Then, she calls out to the creature, trying to distract it. “Smelly oaf! Your mind is thicker than yer hide!”

Ernesto took the hit and was sent sprawling.

Evnarus strikes quickly, blade covered in radiance. He aims for the legs, trying to cripple it so another could get in a killing blow.

“Oh, no.” Oire said, pulling out his crossbow and loading a rock in it. He fired it at the Cleric Beast.

Ashkey drew her bow and notched an arrow, aiming at the beast’s eyes. She released the arrow.

The Cleric Beast would use its left arm to block the claymore, likewise, with the arrows, the thick hide and fur of the Cleric Beast on its arms also acted as natural armor.

The Cleric Beast’s head turned into her direction, taking the beat as it roared towards her. Marybird may notice that the only weak spot was the white skin spots on it. As for the rest which was covered in fur, it was only natural armor. Perhaps stronger attacks could pierce it…

With Ernesto out of the way, the Cleric Beast…

…would get shot once in the left side of the chest, as the other got deflected by its left arm. It roared as it pierced its flesh. With its other arm, it took the arrow out of its chest and threw it down. The Cleric Beast would take a nearby medium-sized rock, which was in very large for our heroes, it threw it towards Reyna.

The Cleric Beast would swing its left arm, aiming its whole fist towards Envarus’ entire body. Because of the length of the arm, he was more likely going to get hit than the beast getting slashed at the legs.

The Cleric Beast’s large horns would act as a sort of a shield, blocking the rocks from Oire’s crossbow shooting at it.

The Cleric Beast was busy with dealing with our Heroes, so the arrow would manage to pierce the Cleric Beast’s left eyeball, there was suddenly an excruciating yell of pain and roar. It more likely pissed it off than weakened it.

Reyna saw the rock, and ran to the side of it, jumping out of the way and rolling up nearby, where she drew another arrow. “Cover me.” She says as she knelt down, orange-yellow aura surrounding her as she knocked the arrow, the tip starting to glow the same color.

“Hold still ya big beastie,” Candall remarks, as he held up his blade again.

“Darling, hit the white skin spots!” Marybird replied. “You need to hit it harder!”

Candall nods, and tries to make it through the animal’s defenses to jab his sword into one of the skin spots. Meanwhile, Marybird starts to user her magic to make the moans of a beast in the distance, hoping to distract the animal from it’s opponents. “Scraaaaaah” the sound of a “beast” makes, sounding injured.

Candall would be successful with his attack, piercing its skin spot, and only because of Marybird’s distraction as it turned towards the screaming of the other ‘Beast’. Our Heroes should slowly learn that the Beast, easily got distracted. But because of the pain, it turned its head towards Candall, he wasn’t in such a good spot. Because of his short weapon, he got to get close so the Beast swings its left arm across Candall, in an attempt to bash him out of the way.

Alina transforms into Lanmo and as soon as Reyna ran away from the rock. Lanmo charged his fist with dark energy and shattered the rock into pieces as he lands on the ground. “I’ll give you cover.” He said to Reyna.

The Cleric Beast would get shot in the torso, as it stumbled a bit back. Glancing at Reyna as it takes out the arrow, it roared and came towards her and swung its large fist at her. Thankfully Lanmo was there to cover her, so he stops its fist and forms a weapon, and slashes across the Cleric Beast’ cheek, its head bobbled towards the left side…

Reyna smiles and closes her eyes, opening them to have the same orange energy. She leaps out from her cover and aims an arrow, right at the space in front of the beast’s feet. As soon as it hit, a large crevasse, large enough for the creature to fall into, would open beneath it, spreading all the way to cover a good few meters behind it as well.
