The New Hawkhood Dilemma: Conflicts of Good and Evil(RP Topic)

This was a bad decision.

The rest of the group remaining, startled by his sudden appearance, simultaneously opened fire on him, while the startled gun man jumped nearly five feet high and tried to bolt for cover. Mirror’s hostage began to twist about in a frenzy to avoid being shot.

Oni would try to grab the man as he ran and use him as a bullet-sponge in front of him.

Meanwhile, Mirror kept hold of the man, trying to force him towards the crowd.

The firing crowd continued pelting Oni with bullets, one entering the goon’s brain, killing him. As they kept him covered, they began breaking off in groups and running in seemingly random directions away, some deliberately going towards areas farther away than others. Sirens began sounding in the distance.

Mirror’s hostage began struggling even more, as the likelihood of him being shot became more and more likely. She’d see flashes of memory with a mass of metal scraps lying somewhere in the sewer surrounded by hundreds of suitcases of varying ages and quality.

Mirror blinks, remembering to remember this memory best she can. “We’re good!” She yells to Oni, who, struggling through the bullet wounds on arm, reached into his coat and threw his Electro-Spikes onto the ground around the goons, best as he could. They didn’t activate right away, instead just staying there, currently inert.

Group by group the crooks broke apart and ran, much quicker than before, on paths that seemed more and more planned the less there were left. Finally the last group bolted into the streets, firing off a couple shots at the spikes on the ground.

Mirror’s hostage was still struggling, slamming his revolver against his leg to make it go off.

Vance opened the door. “Mr. Silver Tongue?” He asked.

“Wow!” Connor stares up at Superhuman in awe. “You’re, you’re…” wearing all black and standing to uphold truth, justice, and peach for all mankind. No evildoer could stand against the man that can rise to any challenge, who can defeat any foe, and who will forever remain a symbol. “You’re Superhuman!” It seems he hadn’t quite listened to what his idol had said.

Pulse picks himself up, looking around for who the kid was talking to. He probably owed the other hero his life… not that he could even tell who that would be. Right now the kid seemed to be talking to air. The young hero shakes his head, trying to get a hold on himself. He needed to protect the kid.

Pulse stands, stepping between Connor and Shade, raising one hand before him. “Get out of here,” he says, doing his best to make it sound convincing.

Superhuman resisted the urge to crack a smile. Adoration was something he was quite partial to, but the safety of this child needed to come first, and if that meant beating the eyeballs out of whoever this was, so be it.

The other hero seemed to be protecting the child, reinforcing what he had already said. The younger vigilante had looked at him rather odd, but that wasn’t a concern currently. He folded his arms and waited in silence, his cape fluttering in the slight breeze, waiting for Shade to make a move.

A few of the spikes were shattered by the shots, while Oni dropped the corpse once all the groups had left. He turned to Mirror once he heard the shot.

The shot hit Mirror in the thigh. “Darn it!” She yelled out as she jumped back in pain, letting go of the man.

Seeing this, Oni ran in, Tri-Blade ready to go into the man’s chest once he got close enough.

“Why yes I am, sir.” Silver Tongue responded, back towards Vance, figure obscured by the tall back of his chair. “Might I ask your name?”

Shade growled. “How about you make me.” He threatened, starting to run in closer.

If Shade kept running forward he’d end up with a very nasty sprained shoulder, as Superhuman was bringing his fist right towards it, practically floating off the ground as he did so.

The man jolted in surprise, the gun going off at the ground. Freed from the squib load, he swung the revolver at the incoming Oni’s head and fired point-blank, gritting his teeth as he expected the blade to dig into his chest.

The sirens got louder.

Shade stumbled back. “Alright, what the hell are you doing!” Shade asked Pulse.

Mirror tried to tackle the man from behind as the gun went off.

Oni, on the other hand, screamed in pain. The pistol being swung at and hitting his head was bad enough as he continued forwards, but what had really been the source of the pain was the loud gunshot going off right beside his ear. He struggled for breath as he almost collapsed forwards from his own momentum and his recent disorientation.

The shocked crook, surprised that Oni had closed the gap so quickly he couldn’t even get the gun in front of his face, stood completely stunned as Mirror tackled him and knocked the revolver from his hand. The sirens were accompanied with screeching tires, for gunfights of a such a velocity were a rarity in New Hawkhood.

Mirror looks up at the oncoming cops, while Oni still reels from the gunshot, the pain from those prior still screaming in his limbs and parts of his torso as his ears rang, the ringing slowly dulling.

The police chief looked on at the masked man and strange other man, along with the man who they just knocked over. He knew that at least one of these people was likely involved with that devil that had made that ‘deal’ with him, and waited, scared for what might happen if he shot the wrong one. The police he brought with him waited behind him, guns trained on the three.

Zack decided to at least take a walk around the neighborhood, maybe he might see something worth reporting to the Society of British Gentlemen.

“You wanted me to make you leave? I’m making you leave.” Pulse adjusts his stance, standing square to Shade and folding his arms across his chest. Hopefully whatever was happening would continue to happen; otherwise this could get embarrassing.

Shade growled, then dropped into his own shadow, disappearing from sight.

Superhuman had begun to reel back for another punch, but Shade appeared to have disappeared. “Well, glad that’s out of the way.”

Connor was still there for some reason. He sighed quietly. “You’ll need to get back home, young man. I can escort you there myself if you’d prefer.”

Red eyes appeared in Pulse’s shadow, and out of it would leap the form of Shade, right at his back.

Oni struggled to get up, the ringing going down, as he held his left ear. He looked up at the police, ready to bolt as soon as he found an opening.

Mirror, meanwhile, looked up at the police. “Um…hi. He attacked us.” She said, still in the form of the dead guy nearby on the floor. She looks at it and back. “Um…with clones.”

The police chief lowered his gun. “Looks like they took care of the ones we were after.” He said, seeing as how neither Mirror nor Oni had a gun, but most of the dead or crippled men did. “Nothing to see here, let’s go.”

One of the other officers tried to protest the chief’s commands, but was immediately cut off by the chief. “I said let’s go.” He said sternly, and the police started to depart.

“Vance. I’m honored to have been invited, sir, but why have I been invited?” Vance asked. “I’m far from the most powerful superhuman,”

“There’s more to a person than their strength.” He responds. “Your abilities are still useful. There are more opportunities in the shadows than there are in a head on fight, anyways.”
