Sanford waited in the briefing room of the Milita flag ship as he attempted to whistle quietly, instead a small tune played on a loop instead to sound as if he whistling. Ever since his fatal incident at Demeter he never noticed he was a Simulacrum once of the side effects of being one so the sudden perfection of the tune made him thought he was getting better at it. The doors opened behind him as he turned around to see Sarah Briggs walk in, she glanced over at Sanford, seeing his robotic body, the last time she had saw him, he was human and that was a long time ago. She cleared her throat and walked to the other side of the table, Trying to grasp that Sanford had become a machine.
"Sanford, good to see you again. It's been awhile." She told him shaking his hand.
"Good to see you too ma'am. What do you need me for?" He asked, his voice was a mix of a older southern and robotic accent.
"Sanford, we have a situation. As you well know the IMC have been getting their *ss kicked...hard." She said pulling up holograms on the table of recent battle reports of Multiple videos and photos from Pilots cams.
"Yes I have ma'am and what does that have to do with what you need me for?" He asked.
"Because...something is taking our pilots down with ease." The videos and photos disappeared only to be replaced by the profiles of The top Milita pilots all labeled K.I.A.
"What? Ma'am these are some of the most lethal pilots the Milita has ever seen, most of them have a count of +100 confirmed kills. There is no way they went out easily." He said not believing what he was seeing from the holograms.
"Well Sanford, they did. Most of them were taken out off guard." She played a few recordings of the pilots final moments.
"This is Milita pilot Commander Rachel Opon, we have IMC titans deploying outside the colony we are reques-." She was cut off by the sound of a blade being swung around cutting through something as it soon followed by a thud.
She played a few more all of the same scenario. The pilots never saw it coming, some died of a gunshot wound or of the same sound of a blade. She turned the recordings off and slid a file towards him. "Old fashion, I know, but this all we have of what we assume is causing this, and I would rather have this kept as secret as possible. So this is staying out of the servers."
Sanford took the file the open it, multiple copied reports filled it along with an single photo of an angled shot, a unknown figure was in the pick as it had something in its hand. But Sanford couldn't tell what. "So guess I have to deal with our new friend?"
"Correct, and We have hired some mercenaries to help you out on this." She told him.
"Oh? When will they arrive ma'am?"
"They will be in the hangar soon with their titans. Better go and catch them up." She said saluting him. "It was good to see you again."
He nodded and saluted her. "It was a pleasure to see you again as well...Sarah." He said, it felt a bit weird to call her that as he turned and walked towards the hangar, just as he arrived so did the ship. "Hmmm, guess the mercernaries are here. Time for a little meet and greet." He chuckled.
