Tolkien's Legendarium (books)

Continuing the discussion from Horrible Books You Read/had to read 4 school From When You Were Younger:

It occurred to me that while there’s a topic for the LotR movies, there’s not one for Tokien’s books.

I think it’s high time someone remedied that. Discuss away!

I’ve read the Hobbit 17 times, and it is my favorite (fictional) book.
Thanks for making this topic, too.

I’ve read it…three times? My hat goes off to you, good sir.

I’ve probably read Hobbit and LotR each twice

I’ve mostly passed my Tolkien phase, not as into it as I used to be

I want to know how many people here have read the History of Middle-earth. It is Tolkien’s notes for the Silmarillion and the Lord of the Rings as compiled by Christopher Tolkien, his son.

I read The Hobbit and LoTR a few times. They were good, but focused a bit to heavily on the scenery for my taste.

Read Hobbit regularly.
LoTR is good, but it has been some time since my last rereading.
Read through the first part of the Silmarillion, gave up.

Currently about halfway through Fellowship…

I of course thought the books were supposed to be read in the order the movies were released, so I still haven’t read The Hobbit, but oh well. So far, it’s pretty good.

You did realise the truth, right?

Uh… No? If it’s story-related, I haven’t read in two weeks, so you might have to refresh my memory
