I’ve only heard free falling, I’m pretty sure that was the only song my dad listened to.

I’m happy to know that that wasn’t just me.
Nah, Tom Petty was incredibly impressive - to me, he always stood out as the most outwardly soulful and seamless artist of the ones that my dad listened to. I’m not a fan of Bruce Springsteen, but I do like Tom Petty.
Additionally, he always managed to keep his lyrics understandable (and pronounceable) for ten or eleven year old me.
