The Omega Lock
Very little is known about the Omega Lock; even during the Golden Age, it was regarded as little more than an obscure myth. As lore would have it, the Lock was built by the Knights of Cybertron as the culmination of their experiments in cyberforming and harnessing the divine energies of the Allspark. The first seven colonies, were, in this light, trials which eventually led to the creation of a device that was equal parts an advanced machine and a receptacle of cosmic power. How exactly the Omega Lock functions is unknown, as is just about everything else pertaining to it. According to legend, the Lock was spirited off Cybertron by the Knights and into the unknown after the War of the Primes, and now a device containing what seems to be a holo-map to its location has been discovered in the Sea of Rust. This map, and the treasure it promises, is the object of the Salvation's voyage and the last hope of the cybertronian race.
The Omega Key
Nicknamed the Omega Map or the Omega Key by Salvation's crew, this ancient, Golden Age-era datacard possesses within its datatrax a massive holo-map containing the transwarp coordinates of the planet the Omega Lock is supposedly held on. The map seems slightly damaged- its "edges" appear splintered, and floating cyberglyphs along these fractures might indicate that there was once more to see in the projection, but what it may have been is unknown, and seemingly lost forever.
Recently, it has been discovered that there is yet more to this device than meets they eye- it can be made to emit a mysterious blue liquid that has so far demonstrated the ability to repair ancient technology and work with the Hot Spot cube to recreate primitive cybertronian life. The glyphs running down its length also translate to the first part of a phrase encountered in the halls of the ancient culture ark and the Inquisitive Savant:
"The light of the Allspark shall light even the darkest hours, and thwart the forces of chaos and evil, until comes the day when its children return to its embrace, and all are one."
Credit to me, myself, and I.
The map is activated by grasping the handle on the card's top, pulling it out, and sharply twisting it ninety degrees clockwise. Reversing these steps de-activates the map.
the Hot Spot cube
An exploration into the Inquisitive Savant yielded the discovery of a peculiar, grey cube, with a transparent porthole in one face revealing a swirling mass of energy within. Translated research notes reveal that this cube is imbued with a fragment of the Allspark, along with a tiny shard of the Emberstone, allowing it to theoretically imbue inanimate material with sparks to create new cybertronian life. It appears to be functional, and reacts with the strange liquids produced by the Omega Key to create small, primitive mechanical creatures.
