If you’d had more time for your Bionicle stories, and/or had access to more finalized character models to base your writing on, would you have done anything differently? ie, more vivid character descriptions, more precise action et cetera?
I doubt I would have done more vivid character descriptions, because I don’t like writing descriptions. As a reader, it has always bothered me if I have an idea of what someone looks like and then the writer contradicts it. Plus a lot of times description does not move the story forward, just pads the word count.
What would have changed the writing, particularly with the comics, would have been if we had fewer characters per year and I didn’t have to try and fit combo models in. It was hard finding enough screen time for everyone with such a large cast to cover each year, and it made the stories very compressed.
