My ‘Alpha Team,’ the one that I played through Platinum with:
William (Infernape) – blaze kick + close combat + swords dance
Jasper (Crobat) – nasty plot + sludge bomb + air slash
Fae (Gardevoir) – calm mind + will-o-wisp + special attacks
Tiburon (Garchomp) – all-out attacker
Zalika (Milotic) – hypnosis + surf + dragon pulse + recover
Maurice (Weavile) – swords dance + night slash + ice shard

Incidentally, they were also the characters in the first stories I thought up, though I never wrote them down. As I recall, William was nominally the leader but had confidence issues, he was helped by Fae who was well-meaning but developed a drug problem, Jasper played pranks on anyone and everything, Tiburon was the Kopaka of Pokemon, and Maurice suffered traumatic head injury and memory loss… Zalika was the only one who was even remotely normal.

More recent: my team from Y:
Elaine (Greninja) – protean + wise glasses + special attacks
Fiera (Blaziken) – swords dance + speed boost + kicking attacks
Emil (Tyrantrum) – dragon dance + 3 attacks
Melanie (Umbreon) – leftovers + curse + moonlight + payback
Luther (Trevenant) – will-o-wisp + 3 attacks
Dimitri (Hawlucha) – fly + high jump kick + roost

Dimitri was later replaced by Raven (Yveltal) 'cause, in the story I imagined, Dimitri died during that battle, much to the distress of Emil, who’d more or less been raised as his son.

I haven’t played Pokemon games in well over a year, but I still credit them with sparking the imagination that’s got me into writing today.

    For my regular team I’ll just say my team I used in pokemon pearl to beat the elite four, which wasn’t my first pkm game but the moment I remember best and is probably my favorite pkm experience. Just to summarize, since that was so long ago (before platinum was out) I was still a stupid kid, and it took me a few months to get to the elite four who it took me many tries to beat. My team was pretty under leveled and I ran out of all my good potions and elixir items at Bertha, so I had to resort to weaker potions. I won by struggle on Cynthia’s garchomp, to which the Infernape died from recoil, both being the last pkm on each side. The team was Infernape, Staraptor, Tropius, Luxray, Palkia, and Quagsire. Had I known what I know now I probably wouldn’t have struggled to win (pun intended) but that was the fun in being an unknowledgeable noob.
