Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Yin and Yang

He gets pulled back by Kingson’s goons and then a thwack of wood was heard, “You do realize this is grounds for expulsion, Mr. Kingson?” An elderly voice asks. Dante had a bo staff between the two brawlers. “All of you children, in my office now.” He says with a stern voice. Blaze checks himself for injuries; a few bruised bones at worst and his black eye at best. The group was soon assembled in Dante’s office, which was decorated with many portraits depicting ancient warriors and the history of Duel Monsters, both modern and ancient. He then sat down at his desk, “Now, will you all please inform me of what happened out there in a civil and professional manner?” Blaze kept quiet keeping an ice pack on his left eye while Kingson was fighting to keep his temper in check. There was silence in the room, so thick you could cut it with a laser scalpel.

Nick starts telling what happened truthfully

The headmaster listens closely then asks what should be done, but is cut off by Kingson begging for mercy. Blaze silently wishes he was able to hit Kingson again. “Mister Kingson!” He scolds, “Perhaps some tea will help you all calm down.” He says as he gets a kettle on. “I don’t drink tea.” Blaze informs Dante, “Hot chocolate, then.” The old man says, pulling out an old can that didn’t have potential to cause health issues but old nonetheless.

Nick just keeps standing and starts humming.

The kettle whistles and Dante fills the appropriate cups for each drink and gives them to the kids. “I am afraid that what Kingson did was wrong and that he has had a history of this kind of behavior.” Kingson almost choked on his tea, if the cup had even gotten to his mouth, coughing and nearly hacking up a lung. “Chancellor, you don’t mean.” The man heaves a heavy sigh of regret, “Yes, you are going to be expelled. We will send your things that you cannot pack by day’s end to you within the month, and I will personally escort you to the boats tonight.” Kingson is unable to speak as his brain had effectively ‘blue-screened’. The group is allowed to finish their drinks and are allowed to keep their cups and mugs as a little present from a literally old friend. Blaze’s mug was a simple black one, Nick’s had a design akin to a Greek vase with artwork of Heracles and his majors, (@Runa) Jeff’s was one that was simple but had an aesthetic that reminded him of home that comforted him. And Kingson got an Elvis Presley teacup.

Nick grabs his cup and heads to his next class

The classes were fairly core curriculum but the last class of the day was Dueling: Monsters, Magic and Mastery. It was a new class, set up by Dante, where duelists learned by doing and how well they understood the ins and outs of their favorite game. The sun had set and everyone was laughing and returning to their dorms. Blaze tiredly walks up to Nick, “I know I’m called the Fire Spitter but using Lava Golem like that is not what I want to use in my deck; it’s too limiting, where’s the challenge when your opponent is like that?” He asks, trying to lighten the mood. Nick had to use an Ancient Gear deck and did fairly well at it. When the sun had gone from the sky completely, the ferry for the island left and on it were Kingson and Dante, who joined him to explain things to the former Obelisk’s family and face their wrath and empty threats of lawsuit.

Nick heads to his dorm and sits on his bed.

Blaze sits on the roof of Slifer Dorm, counting the funds he had raised in free period to help restore Slifer to a more livable place that a roach filled apartment/hotel place. The building would remain the same, just brand new in the no bugs, splintery walls and floors and consistently reliable heating. He finds he is 2/3 to his financial goal but still had to get the approval of the school board for that to work in his favor. He packs the stuff away in a safe and goes outside to stargaze. There was a myth among the island Matonui that people used the stars and constellations to gaze into the past and possible future before it became an island city. “Just an old story but, you can’t deny the beauty of a clear night sky.” He says to himself.

Nick leaves his dorm and goes for a walk around the academy

He sees a meteor shower above the island. And, as luck would have it, this one was in outburst; the event where the amount of meteors visible was double that of the usual and it looked like a fireworks show with out explosions streaking across the sky.

Nick watches for a bit then keeps walking

One set of stars seems to stand out, it looks like the same symbol from before. Blaze gets up and cranes his neck to try to ensure it was just a trick of the eyes but sure enough it was there. When Nick saw the symbol, he felt like something bad was going to happen, his forehead felt sore; which was odd considering he didn’t get hit there at all. Blaze felt that pain in his eye and an odd warmth from his pendant. (@anon68675807) Hornet(?) felt the presence he felt on the ship and that of the Numbers. (@Runa). Both the Obelisk girl and Jeff felt like there was some malevolent force at work.

Nick looks straight at the star and thinks I wonder what that could be.

The Orichalcos was sensed by Nick, its ancient presence was well-known to him.

Nick thinks stop trying to takeover my mind you barnacle encrusted piece of paper.

I am not paper, I am an ancient entity destined to- you’ve heard it a thousand times upon a thousand times. But I do not seek to control you yet. Just enjoy the peace while it lasts.. It says, being true to its word.

Blaze looked at his own Number Cards. He was seeking to have a silent conversation with them.

OOC: gonna have to turn in for the night. You guys know the drill.

Jeffrey feels it, but tries ignoring it, getting on the internet since he can’t sleep.

Nick goes to his dorm and lies down on his bed

It is the next day. The air feels charged with some sort of power.
