A fun story with Bionicle G2

This topic is just there for you all to share the funny stories you have with Bionicle G2 :slight_smile: .

Okay. Last christmas I was trying to find a present for my six year old cousin. So I thought “hey, how about I buy him a nice little bionicle set?”. I thought it would make him happy, and it would give me some kind of perspective on how today’s kids react to Bionicle G2. .
I bought pohatu (as I was kind of afraid that the other gear functions would be too tight for him) and I offered it to him on Christmas eve. Literally all night he was playing with the gear function, and 5 months later, he had all the toa masters and all the uniter+their creatures!

His parents told me I had corrupted him… I have never been happier :smile:

When I first heard that BIONICLE was being rebooted, I have to admit, I wasn’t excited for it at all.
But one day, while browsing through YouTube videos, I saw JANGBRiCKS’ review of the Tahu-Master of Fire set. I decided to watch it, just for the heck of it.

As soon as I saw the gear-function, I was hooked! I watched all of the reviews for the Winter Wave of G2 BIONICLE by JANG. Later, I showed my brother the same video. He was pretty interested. Later, we both got Tahu and Kopaka.

Since then, my BIONICLE collection has expanded.

Recently, I told my brother I was getting Umarak the Destroyer. He wasn’t excited at all, claiming I was wasting my money on ‘Beonicles’ when I should have been buying LEGO Star Wars sets, like the General Grevious buildable figure. When I brought home Umarak the Destroyer, he was disgusted.

But it didn’t last long. Two days later, I heard him making battle noises as he played with UtD, Tahu Uniter of Fire, and Kopaka Uniter of Ice.

That and this G2 poster IS what got me into G2. It was the first thing I saw, and so far I wasn’t even aware it had come back. It is just beautiful.

I dunno about fun stories, seeing as every time I buy I a BIONICLE set I tend to receive backlash from family, but I have had fun with the sets…so there is that…

I was finishing up school one October morning when I randomly decided to return to Lego.com (at this point I had fully lost hope in that website).

Close to the top of the products page I saw the new banner signifying the return of bionicle.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t squeal like a little girl.

Right away I emailed my friend to tell him all about it. (To which I got an Aww Yeahhh!)

Fast forward to a few days ago.

I had to send another email to him with more sober news.

I’m gonna leave this with a cliffhanger.

So you found out Bionicle was back, 2 years after it came back, and a few days later it ended.
