The Great Beings were members of the warrior race (Glatorian) on Spherus Magna; what is the origin of their superior intelligence? Were they all born super-geniuses at roughly the same time, (which seems unlikely), or is there some other factor that resulted in their extraordinary intelligence? Annona is said to have inadvertently heightened their creativity after her encounter with them, but they were alluded to have being smart even before this run-in.

Where and when was it said they were Glatorian? Considering their similarities, such as intelligence and implied psionic powers, I always thought they were off-worlders.
