Best Of LEGO Bootlegs

I had forgotten about this little dude but when I was unpacking my bag I found this venom I got as well. I think he might be my new prefered venom minifigure.

Breakdown for those interested though I did replace the bootlego body. I wish he had clip hands though to hold things.

That’s actually a really good design for larger minifigures. Surprisingly good quality for a bootleg! The removeable tongue is also a neat touch, I can see why he’s your preferred Venom now.

Lego oughta bootleg the bootleg, perfect for a Mid-Fig

Or even just take away the ball joints and unretire the nexoknights clay peice. If they just made a not armor version of that peice it’d be great for so many characters to not be too big but still be bigger then normal mini figs.

I found these linked in a FB chat group recently.
These aren’t direct copies of any specific Lego sets, (Although, the “Forest Guarder” figure does look a lot like how TLG would make a modern take on Treebeard from LOTR.) but, they look nice!

No.6008: “Forest Guarder”

NO.7033: “UnderWorld Rider”

“THE DARK RIDER IS USING HIS POWER TO GUARD HELL”

I like how the bootleg is so lacking in confidence that it has to explain the very obvious bridle

Seeing mixel sockets in other colors makes me so sad though :pensive:

Literally Ghid in the HSH

Truthfully these sets are glorious, the apparently nameless bootleg company should be proud of these designs, they look like fun builds

These things are sick! They’re on-par with some of the best LoTR MOCs I’ve seen, unlike a lot of bootlegs. I especially like the underworld rider, it looks amazing as a display yet also moves around like a Bionicle figure.

Shameless ripoffs of existing sets are one thing, but these look like legitimately fun sets to have. With Lego’s prices going up and their quality going down, I almost wonder if there’s some room in the market for real competition.

Me too!
I guess, we’ll wait and see, how TLG will handle quality in the future. (I hope that it will improve somewhat & somehow, though.)
If it continues to fall even more, it won’t be long before one of their rivals steps up to seize the opportunity.
If it may result in more sets like these with more affordable price tags, I will not complain TBH.

Same here!

(Me, as I realize that we’ll probably never get these in official sets:)

Yes!
My only nitpick would be its head, which is a bit derpy, but I could live with it. :+1:

Agreed. I wish they could do some Ents in the style of the “Forest Guarder”.

Recently came across a better photo of the Decool bike packaging, it’s actually called the Excursion Moto.

It’s pretty fun to imagine the openings of the masks as headlights!

That is

  • a Matoran from 03
  • riding a Bohrok from 02
  • from the Solis Magna system from 09
  • through the chain-link fence of 06
  • in a Mahri package from 07

This bootleg represents more years of bionicle than the Bionicle Stars did.

Which masks?

This is Mr. Bionicle himself.

I believe he’s referring to the slot on the Kakama being depicted as a headlamp in the bootleg packaging art

That box is sending me. The fact that they used plastic for a shell on the package just like some later Bionicle sets is just…it feels weird in a way I can’t describe.

Oh, I had overlooked that before. I was trying to find a mask on the vehicle itself.

The Kakama headlamp is actually a pretty neat idea. I could even see someone adding such a modification in-universe.

While searching for a certain set of Hordika bootlegs, I came across this obscure Vahki set. “Kavass” by Qiao.

Boxed versions:

These sets are really throwing me for a loop. I can’t find anything about this “Qiao” brand, did they ever make any other sets? If not, why did they specifically choose the Vahki? Why are they called “Kavass” of all things? Who at niveldigital built and posed them for the photos?

Also, pleased beneficial new edition.

I like how Vorzakh’s box background depicts him in a peaceful city park

Vorzakh finally redeemed himself and became a peaceful park maintenance robot. He’s using those scissors on his weapons to snip the bushes and trees.
