It wasn’t on the Finland’s product page for the uniters. Not sure if it was there for the skullies either so it’s nothing to go by really.
Have you guys seen this?
Some use this to fuel their doom-saying, but I personally think it’s a marketing strategy to increase BIONICLE’s awareness to TRU customers following the possible current LEGO product restructure deal with TRU where certain high selling themes like LEGO Friends have become exclusive.
I think LEGO wants more efficient sales, because stores like Wal-Mart are a big maybe for toy sales.
I mean doom saying is not very nice- but I assume anything can be ammunition. Now, I am not a doom sayer but i don’t think bionicle’s doing great, but i don’t think this has anything to do with it. TRU does deal like this all the time- they did $40 or more for Airjitzu last month.
Thats dump, Bionicle is not showing up but Chima is?
So um, that BIONICLE interview has taken about a month to come out now…
I wanna know what inspired various aspects of the G2 Toa and villain designs riiiiight nooow. Said in the whiny voice of a child.
Yeah, I actually got a Skull Warrior out of that deal. Preeety nifty.
I thought it was only skull basher. You can choose which free set you get for the deal?
I agree with @Tarvaax, this seems like a TRU marketing strategy–and a cool one at that! As you said in your following post, they’ve done this before, so it seems harmless to me. I really am starting to think that BIONICLE’s making the move to becoming a TRU exclusive, like Friends. All of the TRU related rumors we’ve seen this year–SB being an exclusive, higher stock/greater sales at TRU locations, and now this deal–seem to point in that general direction.
Well I just went to TRU- I went to buy the Ninjago Ronin Rex lol but I still looked around. As for the free Bionicle thing, there was signs hanging everywhere, but only certain sets written- Skull Basher, Skull Slicer, Skull Warrior, and Quake Beast. I got SS free since I already had QB. I wonder why QB was on the deal too tho. Also, Lava Beast was on clearence. Makes no sense. Plus, SB was normal price, not $17. Idk about this stuff.
There would be no point putting beasts on clearance before the uniters, must be a mistake.
Well, how about we play it safe and assume it’s nothing unless someone here calls toysrus, and says the following “Hey I just called to check up on a LEGO BIONICLE item called Lava Beast. Your online and physical stores show it as being on clearance, but the set had only released a month ago. Is there a reason for this? Are you planning on no longer carrying this product?” Then comes back with dire news.
The call would obviously be more involving than that, but that’s the basic message that you should try to convey.
I think what may have happened was the site clearance was a mistake. Then, as some dumb employee was stocking at my store, they read this mistake and made a mistake of their own- putting the set on clearance in the store.
Lego hasn’t approved there interview yet. WE’RE ALL WAITING LEGO
@Asriel, It doesn’t seems to be in the South America version either.
RIP Spanish speakers.
Oh yeah, and while I was in TRU, there was a kid buying Ketar. Made me smile.
you didn’t slam it out of his hands and put uxar in its place so he would get a better set /s
Well, In my country there is no Bionicle 2016 and all the 2015 sets are 50% off
At least I get a Umarak because one of the community of peruvian Bionicle fans went to USA
