BIONICLE 2016 Discussion Topic

tl;dr Bionicle might be becoming a retailer exclusive in UK too.

Believe it or not, he was considering getting Akadia instead, but chose Ketar. Filthy casual. /s

Well increase the price of the two sod after set (UtD and SB) is not a good idea though…

I say SB is raised because he was the rumored TRU exclusive. IDK now that they’re all Tru exclusives.

It really bothers me how all these claims don’t have evidence with them.

“I heard this region is gonna cut back on selling BIONICLE” and so on and so forth.

You’d think, out of ALL these reports, we’d have some definitive proper proof of regions cutting back on sales or people saying BIONICLE is gonna end THIS YEAR?

Most of the proof we have gotten can be interpreted any way.

Aanchir, once again, brings up some amazing examples and points in regards to all of this:

"What exactly is meant by “wide release” cancelled? If it just means it’s becoming exclusive to a certain chain of stores or something like that, then I wouldn’t see that as reason to panic. I believe the same thing is happening in the United States, with Bionicle becoming a Toys R Us exclusive line like Technic was in 2012 and 2013, or like Speed Champions is now.

There’s little doubt that Bionicle sales are nowhere near what they were at their peak in 2002. That said, a product line becoming exclusive to a specific chain of stores is not the end of the world, so if that is in fact what the article was referring to I don’t think it’s cause for alarm. Frankly, it might be the most effective way to extend the theme’s lifespan. "

I say it’s because LEGO is greedy like how they increased the dutch prices for no reason

is there people on the other islands of this planet?

I just got the Italian bionicle magazine!
Some of the games inside were pretty challenging, actually (or maybe it’s just me and I’m terrible at finding differences between two images).

So I finally got Escape from the Underworld. Turns out I needed to switch my country of residence in my amazon account. Apparantly if you’re in the Netherlands you’re not allowed to buy the Kindle version of the book for some reason. So I switched it to United States and was able to purchase it for Kindle. :stuck_out_tongue:

From what I’ve seen on eBay, Poland also appears to have them.

Whats the UK release date for the magazine again? I forgot.

Well guys, recently I went to a Lego store back in the USA and was insulted to find a fully stocked star wars constraction section, but only the 2015 summer sets and Akida for bionicle. On sale.
I asked a Lego employee why this was, and he responded by saying that they weren’t stocking bionicle in the future. Upon seeing my dejected expression, he quickly added that other retailers were getting a bunch of the new june sets.

It appears Lego doesn’t feel like making room for bionicle anymore. This might be because of the atrocious sales of the 2015 summer wave. I don’t think they plan to discontinue the line early, but it appears it’s not going to be in many Lego stores.

On a side note, the SW buildable figures are absurdly overpriced when compared to Bionicle sets. An 80-piece stormtrooper costs as much as 132-piece tahu? COME ON!

And now, I have to spend extra money at TRU…
