Back in 2018 I was inspired to make a Bionicle music video using the song “Bionicle Age” by Paul Hardcastle, after hearing it in a Legend of Mata Nui trailer. So I started working on it a couple months after that trailer came out, and released it on July 1st, 2018.
My idea was to create a video where the actions in the clips matched the beats of the song. I knew I also wanted to try making a visual narrative that could mirror the sections of the song. I experimented a lot with shot continuity, and I tried not to use too many special effects; I felt like they often detract from the editing in most music videos.
