Hello, all! Here’s my entry to the Bionicle Canon Contest for Helryx:

Good day, all! This is my first time on Message Boards and I’m excited to show you my entry into the Canon Contest! I chose to build Helryx based on what I believe she would’ve looked like in her prime. I took some creative liberties by adding a bit of white to her color scheme, much like that of Toa Inika Hahli. Toa Helryx, The Leader of the Order herself (BIONICLE Canon Contest #1: The First) Lego Creations

Her build is inspired on the Mahritoran, Kiina, Pridak and sort of Trinuma because of the mask i gave her. Trinuma’s adaptive Hau became a Mask of Charisma just by attaching horns on the back of his head so i thought that by using an adaptive Kaukau and attaching like what’s supposed to be hair or a crown (idk), a light bulb on her left eye and a tube on her right waffle eye that would make her a Mask of Psychometry. I hope everyone likes her🙂 i don’t count with any 3D printers, CCBS or enough useful pieces to make her more overly epic so i did what i could. [image] Toa Helryx, the first Toa, Leader of the Order of Mata Nui… [image] I obviously don’t have an actual mask for Helryx, so please enjoy the placeholder as best you can. [image] [image] [image] I tried to make her frame reminiscent of the Toa Mata, using Mata Blue and gears to my advantage, as well as making her arms the same idea as Kopaka Mata’s Additionally, I forgot to mention her arms are connected by 4l bars. [image] I wasn’t able to capture what this is very well, but the open axle connects to the blue hand used for her neck, with the chest construction connecting onto the open blue-pin. [image] The blue flex tube used here is completely capable of being a 3l bar, I only used the cut tube for friction. On a different note, I hope anything unclear in these photo…

Toa Helryx (Canon Contest #1 Entry “The First”) Lego Creations

“She closed her eyes and drew upon all her power. If she had any doubt or regrets, she pushed them aside. Helryx would do what she had always done: whatever was necessary.” - Narrator, Reign of Shadows Here is my take on the First Toa, the leader of the Order of Mata Nui, Toa Helryx. As a Toa of Water, naturally, I stuck to a blue theme - utilizing different shades throughout the build. She is approximately 9 inches tall (the canon height for a Toa). Her spiked mace and shield are silver, representing the Protosteel material that they are composed of. I also chose her armor and limb parts to have gaps - in reference to the anciency of her armor and the pits and scars from the countless battles that she has experienced. So, the first toa, the prototype made by the great beings. Not as heroic looking as one might expect huh? [image] when starting this I knew I wanted to do something a little different with the aesthetic of her armor, as it doesn’t look like what takanuva would of seen before. meaning it wouldn’t be like a metru or a nuva body, maybe even unlike an inika build. so I tried building her with a more Glatorian aesthetic, the idea being that she was a prototype, likely based on the look a decorated warrior from the core war, and tested against other prototypes. Helryx, Toa of Water (Canon Contest #1: The First) Lego Creations

[image] Flickr album Front | Side | Back Breakdowns: Torso | Neck | Weapons As the first ever Toa, Helryx may lack polish, but she’s built to get the job done. I imagine early Toa, such as the Toa Mata, were designed with a particular fighting style in mind. Later Toa have more refined frames well suited to a variety of fighting styles. Going with this idea, I made Helryx asymmetrical to fit her equipment. Helryx’s large weapon arm lets her deal strong blows with her mace. The shoulder and knee armor on her mace side protect her when she swings. Helryx’s other side features lighter armor since her large shield covers it. Even her shield is asymmetrical for a reason; it tapers toward the bottom, exposing Helryx’s leg so she can quickly advance with her shield up. [image] Thanks for lo…

Toa Helryx (BIONICLE Canon Contest #1 | The First) Lego Creations

My entry for the Canon contest for Toa Helryx. The design was inspired by older Bionicle sets and knights kingdom sets. As such I tried to keep her set-like and have the feel of those older Bionicle sets while using some modern technic techniques. I like to imagine Helryx has had some changes to her armour over the years so that reflects with there been to colours of silver in the model. The mace is more elemental while also looking old and used. The shield is also weapon like being a buzz saw piece. Toa Helryx (The First Canon Contest Entry) Lego Creations

Toa Helryx: The First Toa Presenting my take on Toa Helryx! This version draws inspiration from Crunchbitenuva’s sketch for the Bionicle Art Squad tumblr, linked here. This version of Helryx has been around for a while, as it was originally posted on my Flickr page back in 2017. [Main Pic] [Helryx-3-Edit-1] I had previously used a 3D printed mask from seller Masks For All, and it can be found here. However, as I’ve been unable to get in contact with the seller through Shapeways, I’ve resorted to using a stand-in mask, the Kanohi Rau. I believe the 3D printed mask is more suitable for the overall figure, but as Helryx’s mask is being decided in a stand-alone contest, it doesn’t matter as much which replacement I’ve used, I guess! Aw heck, why not? The ancient one, Helryx, was assembled on the island of Artahka by the Great Beings. It was her destiny to watch over Metru Nui, but her tasks would soon extend to more than just Metru Nui. Eventually she would become the leader for the Order of Mata Nui. [image] [image] [image] Before you ask, “where is her shield?” Look right at her left arm. Her arm is the shield! I decided it made more sense for a Toa of Water to be wearing a buckler for her armor, since she has so much swimming to do. Lugging around a big ol’ shield is annoying unless she wants to surf. Toa Helryx, Canon Contest #1: The First Lego Creations

I’m new here on the boards and it took me a while to figure this out. But here we go! This is my version of Toa Helryx [IMG_2346] I’d been through a couple different iterations of Helryx before this contest came, and I decided I needed something new for it. Helryx is described as “frail” and with armor Takanuva didn’t recognize, so I decided to use the blue Knights Kingdom armor. I opted not to use silver armor on her because I’ve always thought that was more of a Toa Nuva/Hagah thing. [IMG_2347] Helryx is also mentioned as having something close to a Toa Mata build, so I wanted to replicate that, but not use a block Mata torso, so I made my own. I think the lower half really matches the lower half of a Mata torso, with the pistons on the side and the gears in the middle. She can act…
