BIONICLE Game Ideas!

Lego should make a Hammer Flush app game for the Summer wave. It would give us some insight into the old culture, and it would be another way to advertise Bionicle.

A Pokémon inspired game where you go around having to fight or befriend varying Rahi to increase the strength of your Rahi. Essentially allowing you to explore the island while also learning about the varying Rahi and meeting Matoran and Toa along the way :3

Recently I played Child of Light, a fantastic RPG. I would like to see a Bionicle RPG with the same combat mechanic. (The combat is timeline based, and while it’s not complex, explaining it is. Look up a video or something.) But I also kinda want it to be like Castle Crashers, so I’m not sure how the two would mix.

I had a cool idea. There should be a stealth/action based game where you play as members of the Order of Mata Nui, particularly Helryx, Trinuma, Tobduk, Brutaka, Axonn, and Mazeka. The story would take place during their war with the Brotherhood of Makuta, where the members have to infiltrate Destral and/or other BoM bases. Gameplay would involve basic punches and kicks if close to an enemy, though the player could also use their Melee weapon. Though if the player is at a distance they could use their elemental powers.

Slender, but with Irnakk instead.

That sounds fantastic!! Surely we have gome game devs on the boards? pls?

I already have too many projects on hand and such a game would be heck for optimization.

Honestly, I’d love to see a Bionicle game that plays like Massive chalice.
There’s a great emphasis on teamwork and using different classes to suit your style, not to mention that it spans multiple generations; defending a diverse ilsland from the corruption around you.

Thoughts; anyone?

A turn-based RPG based on Brickonicle. The characters are the Toa of course. You can use all of the Toa at the same time. They are split into a front row and a back row. You can have at most three in each row and must have at least one in front. Characters can switch rows both between battles and in them. There abilities change based on which row they’re in.

Tahu functions as a single-target melee damage dealer in the front row and a multi-target elemental damage dealer in the back. Later in the game he gets support abilities to represent him becoming a better leader.
Gali is also a melee damage dealer in the front row but she is more about debuffing the enemy than raw damage and even gets some multi-target elemental attacks. In the back row she plays a healing role.
Kopaka is a mixed melee damage dealer and tank in the front row and multi-target elemental damage dealer/debuffer in the back.
Lewa is a fast-attacking dodge-tank in the front row and a single-target elemental damage dealer.
Pohatu is a more pure tank than Kopaka with abilities that punish enemies that attack the other Toa in the front row and and has buffing abilities in the back row.
Onua is, in the front row, a very powerful melee and elemental damage dealer and melee tank, but his abilities are very slow and can require multiple turns to pull off. In the back row though he plays a supportive role providing healing and positive status effects to the other Toa.
Voriki is, in the front row, both a melee and elemental attacker falling between Tahu and Lewa in both power and speed, and also an elemental tank. In the back row she confers elemental resistance to the other Toa.

Enemies would also fulfill their own roles in their own groups, so you’d have to think about how to go about fighting them.

“Five nights at Farshtey’s”
You attempt to survive the end of G1, and in the sequel they introduce G2 characters too.
G3?

@squeaverking ‘Excuse me sir, but I think you just stole the Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric plot.’

Edited for Double Post.

A Action-Adventure or 3D RPG Bionicle Game made using Unity or Unreal engine with character creation to create a toa using kanohis, weapons, armors, and elements similar to Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Sonic Forces.

These make pretty games but they suffer when loading large amounts of data. Large amounts of data is critical to 3D RPG games.

It’s not impossible to overcome this but it takes a very skilled dev to do so.

A Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) type game where you can play the greatest battles in the history of Bionicle, like:

That time when Rahkshi tried to invade Metru Nui, and the Toa Mata showed up on the Aerial Vehicles and had it out with them. Includes playable Toa, Rahkshi, Bohrok, and Aerial vehciles.

That other time when everyone jumped out of the universe and onto a desert. Includes playable Toa, Glatorian, Skrall, Rahkshi, Skakdi, Thornatuses, Skopios, Cendox, Kaxkium. Rideable Rock Steeds.

That time when everyone on Sphereus Magna decided to kill each other over some goo they found in the ground. Includes playable Glatorian from all factions.

After the success of DragonBall FighterZ, perhaps a really technical fighting game would work.

After going on a nostalgic trip back to 2009 and revisiting Punch-Out for the Wii, one of my favorite games, I suddenly wondered if I could draw parallels to the boxing matches in the game and Bionicle’s Glatorian matches.

So in this hodgepodge of a mashup, I replaced all the fighters from Punch-Out with Glatorian/Agori which I felt fit for the roles based on similar archetypes. Detailed rationale for each decision provided below.

Minor Circuit

Glass Joe/Crotesius: Honestly the worst comparison in my opinion, since there aren’t any Glatorian or Agori who fit Glass Joe’s infamously pathetic reputation as a fighter (I was considering Berix, but he never stepped foot in the arena). I ended up with Crotesius due to vaguely similar personality traits - Crotesius’ boldness and ambition to represent Vulcanus slightly mirrors Joe’s pride for his country (Vive la France!) and boldness in the ring despite losing 99 times. Plus, Crotesius’ thin build and hunched stance is similar to Joe’s.

Kaiser/Atakus: Similar to Kaiser’s experience as a boxing instructor, Atakus acted as a coach/assistant to less experienced Skrall in the arena. He also boasts similar arrogance. Didn’t choose a full-on Glatorian (like Ackar), since I wanted an accurately gradual progression in challenge.

Disco Kid/Gresh: Both are rookies to the arena, and boast similar charisma. I could also totally see Gresh performing Disco Kid’s flashy moves for how nimble and athletic he is.

Hippo/Vorox: The only logical choice since both are the only animalistic fighters in their respective universes. The “Alpha” refers to the actual Alpha Vorox that Malum challenged during his exile.

Major Circuit

Hondo/Vastus: Both possess a strong sense of duty and honor, and are known to meditate between fights to enhance their performance and senses.

Bear Hugger/Malum: Both are large, brawny, and stocky fighters. They both have an affinity with the wild side - Bear Hugger with his bear trainer and squirrel, Malum with the Vorox.

Great Tiger/Mata Nui: Probably gonna be a controversial one, since Mata Nui never was an active Glatorian, but i’m treating this line-up kinda like the Glatorian Arena game (where you in fact played as Mata Nui). They both possess “magical” abilities, though i’m aware that spiritual projection is probably not one of them XD

Flamenco/Sahmad: I know Sahmad isn’t a Glatorian, but hear me out. They both have lovers (Don has Carmen, and Sahmad has Annona), and Don’s bullfighting can be paralleled to Sahmad taming the Spikit that pulls his chariot. Sahmad has stated that he would fight a Glatorian before anyway, so why not put him here.

World Circuit

Aran/Strakk: Both fight dirty and take cheap shots during matches. Must I say more?

Soda/Tarix: It’s only fitting that the water tribe fighter takes Soda Popinski’s place, who is associated with his respective liquid. Headcanon that in this universe, Tarix uses the tube to take sips of soda from a canister on his back :stuck_out_tongue:

Bald Bull/Stronius: Both are brawny, short, and strong like bulls.

Macho Man/Ackar: Ackar is probably the only Glatorian who could defeat Stronius, so I put him here based on that fact alone. Ackar also seems to have a similarly large fanbase though (everyone was cheering for him during his fight with Strakk)

Sandman/Tuma: Obvious reasons.

I’m fairly confident that this line-up strikes a fair balance between character similarities and skill-progression. Feel free to suggest replacements if you think someone else would be a better fit for the role!

Man, I remember seeing people playing the demo for this at the store, years ago. I never played it, but I recognize King Hippo.

This is a cool idea, pretty interesting to think about.

Wait, this is actually a thing?

I’d play this game.

Sahmad had a lover that died in the Dreaming Plague. Annona, having caused that plague, was not his lover.

So Bionicle Game ideas.

So how would you make the best Bionicle game?

Would it be an adventure wame where you have to go through stages?

An open World RPG around the Island of mata Nui, facing old and new enemies?

Would you rather play as any of the canon Toa, or play as an OC?
