My entry to DuckBricks’ Toa Chiara fanon contest (entry photo).
A goal of mine early on in the canon contests was to use metallic blue parts.
With my choice to use the standard Volitak as it was released in the sets, I sprinkled a couple silver highlights on the rest of the model. I used parts that also come in white so they may be swapped to match with custom masks.
My insistence on metallic blue proved to be a great challenge, especially with the unorthodox way the torso ended up coming together, but I stuck with it.
I started with the lower legs and finalized this design back when DuckBricks’ fanon contests began, and they’ve stood around on their own until this contest was about to start.
The torso gaps were a problem I was unfortunately not able to solve.
Chiara’s spear
I used a Visorak pincer for the tip in reference to Chiara’s history hunting them, deliberately using a Suukorak piece because of their electric abilities.
The bits at the bottom of the spear were based off the Visoraks’ rotating teeth in Web of Shadows. Maybe it’s more than just a resemblance…
