Design a constraction theme!

The situation is that you are Lego and want to revive the constraction line with a brand new theme inspired by lines before it such as Bionicle, Hero Factory or Chima sets - however, you don’t want to re-do the past.

You need to design a brand new theme that will run for a minimum of three years and be targeted primarily towards children and teenagers.

You’re task is simple;

  • Name the theme
  • Explain the story
  • Explain the characters
  • Explain the sets

I look forward to reading your ideas

Listen, for the first time, to the Chronicles of Zilon.

The planet of Zilon was a peaceful world, living in cities scattered around the landscape, studying the stars in tall towers. The knowledge in these towers was extremely valuable, but if this knowledge falls into the wrong hands, the entire world of Zilon could fall into chaos.

The evil Veneferous wants just that, wanting to rule over the land. He has brought an army of enslaved beings called the Zothak to infiltrate the towers and unlock their secrets.

The Zothak who were fortunate enough to stay free must defend these towers at all cost, and possibly free their people.

I don’t have any specific characters at the moment, and I’ll post an image of a Zothak shortly

Theme Name: LEGENDARY
Story: An invasion has occured, and instead of the world uniting, it becomes the opposite. Several major groups remain. Command, an evil, corrupt empire, with the second largest force, wearing mostly red and silver armor. Imperial, mostly purple, orange and yellow that are made of two different species, and want Command out of the way so they can take over. They have the largest force, but are as good as Stormtroopers. The Darkness, the main protagonists despite their name, wearing a variety of armor, mostly green and blue for most soldiers. Grave, the most technologically advanced. Most of the soldiers have green armor, but a lot vary with the technology. Now comes the names significance. Legendaries are people that are able to be revived by an artifact that is controlled by Command. The Legendaries are excellent fighters, and the main character doesn’t know, but he is… LEGENDARY
Characters: Joseph, leader of the Darkness, Robert, a psychopath, Maxwell, third in command of the Darkness, Andrew, the combat strategist, Other unnamed characters, leader of Command, the 12 super soldiers created by Grave, the 4 main dudes on Imperial. Command’s leader is like Palpatine, and they’re second in command is like Darth Vader. The Darth Vader has a brother in Grave, a supersoldier, who he kills.
Sets: (small) command soldier, darkness soldier, Imperial soldier, Grave soldier.
(Medium) Robert, Maxwell, Andrew, 4 Grave super soldiers (one of each of 4 teams, gold, blue, green, and grey) Command sniper, heavy, and sergeant, Imperial alien, Juggernaut, heavy, berserker.

Exile

In the story, six main ‘heroes’ travel out into space from their native planet in order to discover new places/materials. While in space, they discover six exiled former ‘astronauts’ (the Exiles) who have been mutated (similar to the Barraki) and see the heroes as a threat. It would run for three years, and include various sci-fi/adventure ideas.
-Year 1- Discovery of the Exiles (The heroes travel into space and clash with the Exiles. In the end, the Exiles flee to another planet)
-Year 2- The Hunt (The heroes chase the Exiles across a new planet with its own quite angry natives, and it finishes off with the Head Exile killing the leader of the heroes)
-Year 3- New Unity (The five heroes rediscover their unity and defeat the Exiles, before returning to their home)

In the six heroes, two are female. They each have a specific ability (be it agility, strength (physical), leadership, stamina, intelligence, and understanding (similar to the Rau)) and their armor is suited specifically to them. Their personalities are as follows:
-Agility Character- (Male) Very fast, talks far too much. Always wants to get there first. Sometimes can be stubborn and arrogant. Often disagrees with Stamina Character.
-Strength Character- (Male) Wise, always willing to contribute to the group. Very thorough in everything he does. He tries his best to stay friendly with the other characters.
-Leader Character- (Female) Very ambitious, and that sometimes is a fault. Tries to keep the team together, but often argues with Stamina Character. Consults often with Strength and Intelligence Characters.
-Stamina Character- (Male) Sarcastic and egotistic. Wants to do everything on his own, but is reliable under fire. Openly argues with Agility and Leader Characters.
-Intelligence Character- (Female) Knows what they are looking for and how to find it. Sometimes can be viewed as distant, but tries her best to help the team.
-Understanding Character- (Male) Often is the ‘glue’ that holds them together. Very good at ending arguments, but not always the best at following orders.
-The Exiles are all very cunning and intelligent, but because of their mutation, can be violent and uncontrollable.

There would be 12 sets in the first year (six Exiles, six heroes). I imagine a summer release. Eight sets would be $15 (four heroes, four Exiles) and the other four $20 (two heroes, two Exiles). For the second year, new versions of the original 12 sets would have a winter release, and 8 new sets for a summer release (the hostile characters on the new planet). The third year would only have a winter release of 11 sets (because the Leader was killed).

In the first year, the ‘heroes’ would have some sort of propulsion method on their backs or legs. They would also have a customizable shooter weapon, and some form of melee weapon. The Exiles all have some sort of physical mutation, like tentacles, spikes, or asymmetrical limbs. They all have melee weapons. The ‘collectibles’ for this theme would be the masks of the heroes.

Vesarah is the name of the theme, and the location, much like Chima.

Explain the story- Vesarah is the native tongue for “Star Haven” for it is on this world where live strangest of beings, those who look like the constellations of the night sky as we know it. There live characters such as Altar, Orion, Pegasus, etc.

In Vesarah, there has become a battle, involving some of its inhabitants becoming dark, and I mean that literally. Representing their starry heritage, all Vesarahns have translucent parts of their body(armor pieces/bones.)

However, some have had their lights taken away, becoming dark advocates of the mysterious force known only as Varoia, advocate of the Void.

So our main heroes, 12 in the first wave(six large, six small) would be the Zodiac Constellations.

Leo-The Leader. Strong and fierce, but quick to foolish actions. He is strong-willed and right more often than not, but this has made him stubborn(Archetypical, I know, but it’s Lego. This stuff’s gonna happen) Humanoid, but with a lion-like head and Clawlike Gauntlets for weapons

Sagittarius- A short attention-span, and very much wild, Sagittarius is active and skilled, and not at all afraid to show that he knows it. His child-like levels of maturity, combined with his great prowess makes him somewhat disliked. His body is centaur-like, and his head is flat and such, like a human’s, but still robotic and mechanical, like hi-tech-yet-ancient armor. His weapon is the Bow

Libra-Libra is calm and collected if anything. He represents a balance for the Team, always keeping in mind the needs of others. He is not very physically strong, nor is he much of a spellcaster, but his skill and sense of balance gives him enough to get by. His weapon is something of a dual sided flail, which can split apart to become two separate flails. They should resemble Scales. His head is armored and humanoid, like Sagittarius, but distinct it its own right.

Taurus-Taurus is the big guy. He’s large, as well as tough, and most imposing in size. He doesn’t really have a need for the magics of some of his companions, and often goes rushing into things. His primary weapon is an axe, with a Minotaur-like body, and of course, a bull-like head.

Virgo-Virgo is of course graceful and skilled, but also quite intelligent, if a bit standoffish. She is one of the team’s few fliers, and she sees this as a big responsibility in battle, keeping the aerial situation under control. She is quite hard on herself, and takes training and dedication quite seriously. Her primary weapon is a staff-like weapon, with which she channels magic through. It has lacy plant-like details all over it. Her head is much like Sagittarius and Libra’s in how I describe it, but it is of course more feminine looking, and also still fierce.

Cancer(My personal favorite): Cancer is attached to the others and finds himself trying to keep things peaceful when eventual arguments break out, him and Libra. He is caring, yes, and hopes for the best, but fears the worst, making him paranoid, despite his wisdom and intellect. Cancer is slender in appearance, but it is contrasted by how durable the armor he does have is. His primary weapons are a lance/pike with spikes like one would see on a crab’s claw all over, and a large shield. Despite this, he is a magic-user more than a fighter, and will act as such. His head is a mix between a crab’s with the antennae, but also possesses some features of typical Knights.

Aquarius-Curious more than anything, and excited by the new things in life, and because of this, she is tolerant, open-minded, and undemanding. She is also magic-based, and can change the shape of her legs to that of a fish’s tail, much like her close friend Pisces. She uses a whip as her primary weapon, and it serves her well. Her helm/head is similar to Virgo, in that it’s feminine, but it is far less threatening, reflecting her easy-going but excited nature

Pisces-Pisces is something of a recluse, not knowing much about the ways of life, and being too afraid to go out, often leaning on Aquarius, who she sees like a big sister, to protect her, as she stays in her small, metaphorical pool. Her main weapon is a trident, but she will hardly use it if avoidable. Like Aquarius she can change to posses a mermaid’s tail for easier water-based combat and maneuvering, but other aspects of her, such as her helm, have aspects of other sea creatures all about them

Gemini: Gemini is of two minds. He is very well spoken, and likely to make a good argument, only to go back and make a counter argument that’s just as convincing. This is reflected in his fighting style, in how he seems to be proficient with melee weapons, such as his Sword, with one arm, but a mage with his other using his scepter. His helm resembles the hat of a court jester

Aeries: Confident and stubborn may have applied to Leo, but his second-in-0command Aeries has this as well. He’s also something of a suave ladies man when he wants to be as well. His weapon is a large war hammer, and his helm has the horns of the ram on it, while sharing knight-like traits such as Cancer.

Capricorn- Smart and organized, but too laid back and joking to really use it, Capricorn is something of the team’s heart. His weapon reflects his odd nature, being a air of boomerangs with horn-like motifs like the ones on his helm.

Scorpio: If any were to be a traitor to the cause of fighting Varoia, it would be Scorpio. She is cunning and brave, but often coming off as unlikeable and obnoxious. Her main weapons in this case are natural, such as her stinger tail, and large claws. Her helm reflects the bug nature of her inspiration, with a ponytail-like thing resembling a scorpion tail, as well as a faceplate with mandibles.

The sets will still be using CCBS parts, and each head will be one piece, with the helm made of two pieces(not quite sure how it’ll work, but 144 combos).

The colors will reflect elements. 4 instead of 6.

Leo, Sagittarius, and Aries will be red and dark red mostly, for Fire

Cancer, Aquarius, and Pisces will be blue and such for water(Screw official elemental charts, this makes more sense)

Scorpio, Libra, and Gemini will be greens, for air.

and finally, Virgo, Capricorn, and Libra will be blacks, yellows, and browns for Earth.

Not sure about the Villain(S) yet, but we’ll see.

I’ll put mine later.

YES

I APPROVE OF THIS

If the theme is “stars going out”, would you have some of the 12 constellations evil? (e.g. Scorpio, Gemini, etc.) I ask this because I don’t see 12 “good” sets coming out in addition to at least four bad guys.

Look at Bonkle 2015.

The summer wave will be the villains, and those will, I think be other non-zodiac constellations.

All the villains will be larger sets.

but Bonkle 2015 only has 6 heros mang

you’ve got too many heroes

you’re producing them too fast

i might even call you

a HERO FACTORY

Protectors count, IMO.

I mean, they have weapons and fight the Skull Spiders.

…Whoops. Forgot about those…

But anyway, this is a very good idea. TV show at any point?

Space hunters

In a distant galaxy, space crime is everywhere. The galactic federation has no choice but to allow bounty hunters to handle the crimes.
It’s like hero factory except slightly more serious
Characters:
Hope Mite is a female bounty hunter who is trying to locate her missing crew, her target is Dakon who seems to have information about her crew
Jarred Locke is a space police officer who is dedicated to his job, his target is a rampaging robot Bzp-611
Feral is a member of an alien race who hunt on Crawler’s race, he undertook the job to have Crawler as a trophy
Sets:
Hope Mite: Bounty hunter that looks like Samus
Jarred Locke: Space cop that looks like robo cop
Feral: Bounty hunter that looks like a predator
Bzp-611: Criminal that looks like the terminator
Crawler: Criminal that looks like a xenomorph
Dakon: Criminal that looks like Cthulu
All hero sets come with a miniature facehugger/Metroid like villain and all villain sets come with a minature space police robot
All sets have some kind of launcher as well a an alternate head or moving jaw

Name: Arcadia

Story: years of war and destruction have ravaged the planet known as Geisa. A warrior named Derkayes has taken over half the planet, now a team of brave warriors have come to prevent the galaxy by being consumed in this war… the X team!

Consisting of Vent, the main hero and a beam sword master, JMP, a heavy gunner and powerhouse, Neo Silveron, the tech whiz and genious, stealth nymph, the stealthy assassin, and Crimson ninja, the cool ninja dude. Together, this group makes up the leaders of a resistance force which uses many vehicles and weapons against Derkayes’ armada of drones!

Sets would be army builder packs and a few base and vehicle sets

Darker and story oriented. Meant for like 14-18 and not 8-14.

I’ve got a concept.
The theme’s characters are able to duplicate each others’ powers. Here’s some pictures:

Each set would include spare arms. The basic idea is that the arms can be (un/)attached to the figures (via gearbox or new system).

A game could be made alongside it, maybe similar to the Glatorian battling game (only, maybe a bit more involved this time around).

I’m not going to bother with creating a story, I’ve got plenty of unfinished stories to deal with as it is!

Theme Title: SPEROGEN (I wanted something similiar to BIONICLE, as it being a combo of the words Bio and chronicle. So, Spero, latin for hope, and legend. I tried sperogend, but it didn’t sound right. So it would be legends of hope basically.)

Story: Heroes are forged in the flame of conflict, whether a simple argument to a full out war. Sometimes, in those conflict, hope is lost, and it is the duty of heroes to restore that hope.
There is no hope for the Menorians. The Cycle they have been trapped in for thousands of years cannot be broken. Endlessly they are Collected, killed, and then the small group of survivors of that Cycle are left to repopulate till the next Collection. The people in charge, the Protectors, as they call themselves, are the ones in charge. Their motives are unknown, and they are never seen except at Collection.
But, one Cycle, a group from a distant land came, their boat had smashed against their shore. It was nearing Collection time again, and they were not part of this plan. They were known as Anomalies.

(Now, the reason for the Collection is so the Menorians never feel the need to seek new land on the other continents. They were once a powerful race, and had a mighty, just, and peaceful empire. The Protectors were a race that was bitter that they had been conquered, even they had attacked the Menorians first and they had treated the Protectors better than fairly after. The Protectors thought this was protecting the other lands as their own empire grew, and it was a bit of undeserved revenge. The Anomalies are a race from another land that hadn’t been conquered yet, or even had heard of the Protectors. They were the first expedition to this hemisphere. They are a just and righteous group of warriors who plan on reviving the Menorian Empire to overthrow the Protector Empire.)

Characters:
I’ll just give you the Anomalies for now, as they are the Heroes.
Anomalies: Capable Warriors, each with a different ability.
Varos (Vare-Os): A weathered and veteran leader, Varos will do whatever it takes to bring justice and restore hope to the oppressed . Because of this, he can get a little too goal orientated and can slip into the ends justify the means mentality. However, is lieutenant can always bring him back down to earth and make him remember the lives under his command. His power is control over sound. So everything from a sonic boom to muffling someone’s screams is possible for him.
Nerin (Knee-rin): A young second in command, Nerin is a bit of the silent type, but he truly cares for everyone in his command and his friends. He can be sometimes too loyal, and forget what needs to be done. Varos can often snap him out of it, though. His power is that of invisibility. Stealth missions are his cup of tea.
Gallos (Gal-Os): Often known as “ms.-know-it-all,” she is often considered the smartest group member. She also is known for being able to befriend anyone due to her natural good looks and charm. She is often sent on infiltration missions. However, she cannot stand Serous, though she still considers him a friend, as he often helps her over her indecisiveness. Her power is telekinesis.
Serous: A good natured, well-meaning chap, he is the chatty and goofy long-shot of the group. He is capable of making impossible shots with any long range weapon. He can be a little too chatty with Gallos, as he has a massive crush on her, though could never tell her as he is way to shy for that. His powers are x-ray vision, eagle vision, and the ability to slow down his perception of time at will.
Clanara (Clu-nar-a): A bit too into explosives, Clanara is often seen humming to herself as she designs something else to go boom. While everyone who knows her knows she is a caring and gentle soul, but those who don’t see a slightly crazy, in your face warrior. She often is the only one that can make Darimus smile. Her power is fire-manipulation. She can create small amounts of flames out of nowhere, but needs an existing fire to do anything crazy with it.
Darimus (Dare-i-mus): The wisest man you will ever meet, Darimus is often the peace keeper, and the most silent. However, when peace cannot be reached, his power of super-strength comes in handy, as he is probably the most fearsome warrior on the battlefield. He can often calm Clanara down when she gets too excitable.

Sets: Similarly built to Gen 1 of Bionicle, though each race is differently built. They all have helmets of some sort, similar to Bionicle’s masks. They would feature gear boxes, an assortment of weapons, but I’m unsure what the play feature would be. I don’t want to copy Bionicle too much and steal the mask-knocking-off feature. (And sorry about the set design being to lacking as a whole, I don’t know exactly what to do with it right now)
Menorians: Built much like the Toa Metru
Protectors: Complex build, titan-villain sets.
Anomalies: Unique build, closest too the if you gave the Inika a gear box maybe?
Wild-life: Built like Rahi. Seriously, that was one of the coolest part of Bionicle, I’m going to keep a similar build.
Collection Machines: Multiple types

Sorry for the wall of text, but now I think I’ll go make this story a thing…
