Hello, (lemme think up a new phrase) bhvbjklbngdjf of the internet! I have returned with another MOC, Diminished Mata Nui, nicknamed skelly nui by me. This MOC is Mata Nui after the reformation, with a gunmetal Ignika to symbolize the energy the reformation has taken from him. Other than the mask, this MOC is 100% buildable.
Here is the picture I took way too long on, which combines an image of one of my drawings with a MOC render:
If there was joint at the base of the neck allowing for a hunchback look like Matoro Mahri it could still have a long neck without looking kinda awkward.
There IS a joint at the base of the neck that allows Mata Nui to put his head in his ribcage (yes, it really goes that far) that is hidden by the tires. In the posed image, he is using that joint, so he can have a hunchback.
Withered Mata Nui feels less like a skeleton and more like a Bendy and the Ink Machine stick figure, with pronounced cankles and a proportionally giraffic neck (we makin up words with this one). Unlike the source material, the moc doesn’t take advantage of its gangly ungainliness for artistic purpose, staying generally well-proportioned everywhere except the neck.
I also can’t help but fear this dude’s head is going to sag like crazy irl with only the rubber ribcage holding it upright
I searched for the bendy stick figure, and I don’t know what you mean.
That is my building style kicking in. I always keep things well proportioned subconsiously. The only disproportionate area other than the obvious is the thighs being far longer than the shins. For a V2, if I make one, I will likely make the arms and legs longer and fix the issue with the thighs being too long.
The ribcage part is made of polypropylene plastic, which shouldn’t sag. It is flexible, but not rubbery.
