I have reimagined the Rocket as a sort of Plasma Cannon, and It has Heelies Because that’s just how I’ve started designing mechs. There are extra Clips on the back, Partly for Storage of various weapons, and partly because I started getting carried away and gave it some extra equipment.
It feels more Exo-Force than Exo-Toa, but I like how you took more creative liberties than most Minifigure Exo-Toas. I also like how it’s only around the scale of the $20-$30 Ninjago mechs, but feels much more whole, much more like the massive ones. Great work!
There is no white, that’s light blueish gray. I guess Studios render lighting + the message board adding a backdrop to the originally transparent images makes it look white.
I don’t know why but seeing wheels for heels satisfies my mecha itch for how versatile the mobility is for a “mobile suit?”. I really like this take and I kinda want to reverse it but with Bionicle/Technic. I’m so looking forward in putting this moc on my shelf.
But I will agree what some people are saying about it feeling more Exo Force, yet in my opinion that’s more a compliment than anything. If I had to fight off giant insect dragon queens called Bahrag, I would want as many armaments as possible. ESPECIALLY if they get stronger the closer those ladies get to each other.
My inspiration is quite simple, A: Minifig Tahu now exists; B: the Exo-Toa is cool; C: I have made a line of mechs in this style already, so why not make one based on the other two points? Everything just lined up (I really should get around to posting the mecha fight club on the message boards at some point).
