Oh come on!
Shoulda’ left it at three. The protagonist finally came face to face with the primary antagonist and survived his wrath, the children’s spirits were freed, and all that remains of the freddy’s franchise is burnt to a crisp.
I hope Scott is better than that. Perhaps the whole “nightmare” thing is literal.
Hear me out… What if we play from the perspective of the purple guy as he slowly dies? As he falls deeper and deeper into his subconscious, we witness his own personal hell. The spirits of those he’s killed haunt him in the mental prison he created for himself. He plays a mental game of torment and survival against his victims, slowly becoming more and more disturbing. We watch as his crimes finally catch up with him; burning away his humanity. By the time he dies what little empathy that was once there is gone. All that remains is Springtrap…
