Yeah, I got a mic. I shot you a request
@Calebmar12 You too
So the plans fell throughâŚnot getting Reach for a few more daysâŚ
Aww, I was really hoping to get to hear more of what Halo is to the newcomer.
I ordered it yesterday. it will be here on Tuesday!
I am hyped.
Read any of teh books
I have basic summaries of some, I should look into it.
My suggestions:
Original trilogy
Halo the fall of reach
Halo the flood
Halo first strike
Just a nice read
Halo evolutions
Forruner trilogy
Halo cryptum
Halo primordium
Halo silentium
Read before kilo five trilogy
Halo ghosts of onxy
Kilo five trilogy
Halo glass lands
Halo the thursday war
Thatâs all i can think of at the moment
An i havent read all the books pls dont jude
All in order of there placement in respective series
My favorites silentium the final book in the forruner trilogy
And my question to you is which games have you played
I have not played any of the games, but I do know the storyline and all that. (mainly because I donât want to spend a boatload of money I donât have on five+ games)
Out of all those books, a must-read would definitely be The Fall Of Reach. Also, I think Last Light was a great read, but not a must.
I heard about a Fall of reach animated series, is that any good?
It leaves out the actual Fall Of Reach and two thirds of the entire book, but details the Spartan program. Despite what anyone says about the animation style, I really thought it was terrible.
Akay, I will check the books out. I have been needing to find something to read.
Iâd still recommend Halo 5. The constant free updates keep adding to the already impressive amount of content, the game itself is just boatloads of fun, and itâs still new, meaning tons of people play it (Including yours truly).
The story is very base breaking, but I enjoyed it, even if I thought it could be better. AI is really stupid though, and The Warden Eternal is ridiculously frustrating.
So I got Halo Reach yesterday, and I must sayâŚ
Best game I have ever played.
I played through the campaign, and halfway through my brother(s) wanted to play as well, so they joined in.
The campaign can be hard for someone who has only played the demo and sucks at video games in general. and I was only playing in Normal mode. (Tip of the spear took two hours to complete, blame checkpoints being way too far and few between)
The gunplay seems pretty solid, I have found some favorites. (Shotgun, Concussion rifle, Gravity hammer and Spiker come to mind) However the starting loadout is pretty good as well.
The maps were pretty neat and interesting, as well as big enough to get lost in. (Blame the lack of shiny arrows telling me where to go.) And the vehicles were always a blast to drive or just even ride in. they really make you feel empowered whenever you are behind the wheel or turret, and the Ghost was always fun to steal from unsuspecting Elites that were trying to splatter me for the 50th time. I had a bit more fun then I probably should have when I got inside the truck at the beginning of the game. that was some great fun that I look forward to reliving sometime soon.
The foes you face are diverse and interesting, and it is a great feeling when you beat a Elite in one swoop when only a few missions back you were destroyed by his comrade. I could go a long while without fighting another Hunter though. (Yay for bad checkpoints, I had to fight one on the level âTip of the spearâ Heaven knows how many times.)
The Brutes are a interesting enemy, they are strong and have different weapons, but their insane rampage is unpredictable and can be fun to try to âoutbruteâ the Brutes. (A skill I am rather well trained in) It also helped that some of the best ways to take down a Brute is his own weapons. The Skirmishers where kinda whatever, same goes for the rest. they were fun and well done. I really like the character models of the Skirmishers in particular.
As for the armor abilities⌠they were good and bad. I like the different powers and such, however my fast paced and constantly moving playstyle makes Sprint a mandatory. So I have to pass up the jetpack and drop shield just so the game is playable and does not drive me insane. I think that the addition of sprint as a built in ability in later games is certainly a improvement.
Now as for the charactersâŚThey were pretty great, you got a general grasp on all of them before they met their end. and I was actually sad when Jorge, Kat, Emile and Noble six died. Carterâs death seemed really kinda shoehorned and pointless. (He could have jumped out before the crash and accomplished the same thing.
Jorgeâs death really was emotional for the characters, seeing as he seemed like Noble sixâs only friend on the team at the time, his death was even sadder when they mourned him for about three missions. His death led right into Katâs, Because she died moments after some sort of funeral for Jorge. It was like you could feel the despair Noble six felt as he was shooting into the sky, holding Katâs dead body. The cutscene afterwards added even more, showing just how broken Noble team was.
The departure of Jun was disappointing, even though I know he left and survived, I liked him a lot in the short time we spent with him. and even worse he was being left with that witch Halsey.
Carterâs death was stupid, he really did not have to die, and I honestly did not feel much when he did sacrifice himself.
The death of Emile was epic, me and my brother made jokes about him being invincible, (he kinda jumped off a cliff when we were playing, then showed up again a few moments later) But when he did meet his end, he went out in a blaze of glory and how he killed the Elite that killed him was some pretty great stuff.
The story as a whole was pretty good, I enjoyed it and it had its moments. Like Captain Keyes, Buck and Cortana being in the game, that was pretty cool. hearing Buck say his name over the comm was great, and added to the moment and feel of this being a actual large scale war waging across the planet.
So all in all, Halo Reachâs campaign was epic, it had some duller moments and more tedious tasks, but the positives outweigh the negatives by a insane landslide. I would definitely recommend.
(I will make another write up about the multiplayer, but I have not played much of that. from what I have played all I have garnered is that I suck at it.)
It does feel that way but we all must remember spartan 3s are expendable they werw made to cut costs thats why they exist to go on suicide missions. Noble team was made out of some that were good enough that they were considered assists. Carter to my knowledge was well suicidal (not in a cut myself way) he didnât think before he acted probably because of the training. Also it was a scrabe that had the high ground what were they ment to do also carter was injured heavily
Though mabys its just that i didnât like reachâs campaign all to much
Or the elite designs
There heads were all wrong the legs to and the armors were mostly terrible.
I thought Noble Team was formed out of Spartan IIIs that were too important to be lost in the suicide missions, with the exception of Jorge
Oh god i hope im not wrong beginning data download.
Ok so noble team was a group of spartan 3s and Jorge (who is a spartan 2). Noble team was hand picked as the best spartan 3s and were sent to some major engagements that werenât classified however many of there missions were still suicide missions thats why Kat and Carter are the only to original members of the OG noble team.
If i am wrong please correct me
Edit: @Got_Banned i hate that set the second most and now i hate it even more out of spite and its silly carrot mouth. Blarg blarg honk honk
Yeah youâre right.
I also want to say the Spec Ops armor is something that I liked in Reach because I really felt like they were going for the Predator vibe with part of the mask. I used to do a lot of Firefight against these guys, too, so Iâm biased a bit. I honestly really hated the Zealot armor from Reach, because the Shipmaster was the same thing with minor differences
On this we agree. While i could go on about why it isnt (it isnt gold because they were less proper zealots and more well an elite team of zealots with armor specifically made for that fleet (the first fleet lead by RHO BARUTAMEE not THEL VADAM who is seen getting to reach at the end of long night of solace)) hate it because well it wasnât gold it wasnât what zealots have been shown to use in every game. Ironically halo 4s zealot is my favorite elite now it isnât gold but it looks much more like well a special commando that is the best of the best.
