Matorans who travelled to save Toa Nuva lost their masks, but when they were transformed to Toa Inika masks just suddenly… appared? Where did those masks came from?
Karzahni took their old masks and gave them new ones, which were transformed into the fleshy inika masks when the matoran were transformed by the red star.

Karzahni had a habit of ordering the enslaved Matoran to build and create bunch of random ■■■■ for him, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how these masks were made.
that or he just stole them from matoran that didn’t survive his “repairs”
