I honestly don’t know if it’s real or not, because they started working on Bionicle’s Revival in 2012. It doesn’t say anything about a reboot, but actually a potential continuation. It’s about logo concept, and mentions the production company of TLR, Tinseltown Toons. Take it with much salt, and I myself am very skeptical about the authenticy of this document.
I’m not sure if this is allowed to be posted if it is real, and I’m very sorry if it’s not. I will delete it right away if asked to.
It could be a fake or a real document, but the point is, that LEGO didn’t bring it back in 2012. They preferred to make a reboot after HF. If they really wanted to bring back Bionicle in 2012, they would have difficulties to bring new fans, since the Legend is a continuation of a Ten year storyline. Where did you find that document actually?
I didn’t really do any deep searching or anything. I was surfing the web for Bionicle 2012 to see if there were any concept blogs for G2. I saw this tab for a “Designer’s Report” document which really caught my eye, so I looked at the document to see what it was about. I looked at the website this document was from, and they seem to be reporting LEGO, mainly Bionicle news. Here’s a link to it.
Even disregarding the design for those logos, that isn’t how Faber writes at all. The formatting and writing also betrays a lack of understanding for how LEGO works internally. The “franchise manager” is conspicuously never named, and it refers to “the department doing the retailer catalogs,” which I’m sure has a more appropriate name and certainly wouldn’t play an active part in design like is implied here.
I could pick out any number of other things (Advance is referred to as Advance Advertising, which, uh, is not their name. If anything you would see Advance A/S in that place), but rest assured this is as fake as fake can be.
Ah, lies and leaks, a major part of the Bionicle fandom. This was published April 1st 2011. Not even we got leaks that early in 2015. I dont think so at least. We know Bionicle didn’t come back in 2012. We also know in 2011 they introduced ccbs, which they fail to mention would be staying (Which TLG would say), and also how unlikely it is matoran would use vorjak(whatever that is) spinners to do spinjitsu. This is a fake leak, no doubt about it.
Good eye @Barkel. The document was faked pretty well, but that “early prototype” is most obviously a knock off set. I guess that means we can move this to the fake leaks category.
