Whats so special about Half-Life series? Seeing as I never played any of those games, can somebody explain why people still want more of it even after so many years of Valve trolling.

From what I heard, it was the engine it pioneered, as well as the story.
I’ve never played a half life game but are they really that good that this whole Half Life 3 never being released thing transcended past viral internet meme ages ago?

They are the most innovative games i have seen. The physics engine featured in them has yet to (IMHO) be transcended by any game. They feature a engaging story (In Half-life 2 at least) that I enjoy visiting the wiki to read-up on. And most importantly they have game-play based on logic rather than simply shooting up the joint.
