Ello kids! I’m Umarak the Hunter, and today, we’ll be hunti- I mean… Researching some legendary beasts. Let’s go check em out eh?"
Starting off, we have Quake beast. These big brutes are crazy strong, and borderline invincible thanks to their healing factor. Luckily, their brains are in a constant state of conflict with the crystals growing on them, making them very slow to react and absentminded.
If you want to bring one down, attack their unmutated half. It can’t heal like the crystalline side of its body and is much more organic and weak as well. However, don’t expect them to just take the punishment. Thanks to their brains constantly fighting off the crystals advance, they are prone to… very… powerful… muscle spasms. AKA: You will get your jaw crushed in if you get too close.
Next up we have a Storm Beast! While not as ridiculously powerful as Quake Beasts, these suckers are faster than anything else on Okoto and can dodge almost anything you throw at them. However, assuming you can survive long enough to counterattack, any hit you can land is gonna hit like a truck due to their lack of armor.
Their tail is what you really need to look out for though. If it latches onto your body, or Elements forbid, your mask, their crystal disease will spread into your bloodstream, freezing you from the inside. If you’re insistent on combat, long range attacks are vital. Hand to Claw combat is a death sentence.
After all that talk of death and monsters, I’m startin to get hungry! Let’s take a quick break and get some good ol fashioned BBQ eh?
oh crap.
Well… uh folks, this is a lava beast. Unrivaled in flight and long range combat, these are in my opinion the most dangerous of the beasts of Okoto. Thanks to their internal temperature, the corrupting ooze seen on Quake and Storm beasts was unable to survive. While the other beasts are my slaves… these beasts are just angry. Very very angry. On the ground they’re weak. They can still move quickly, but not as fast as storm beast. Their armor is even weaker than storm beast as well. But here’s the thing. They have no reason to be on the ground. Thanks to their ability of flights, they can simply act as living, airborne artillery, raining magma and death from the heavens. If you hear a roar from above the clouds… run. Run very very fast and hope to your creature of choice that these monsters don’t find you. The fact we found this one alone is amazing, seeing as most of the time they travel in packs ranging up to twenty beasts.
Just… don’t try to fight them. You will lose. By a landslide.
Well! That’s all I have for today! Tune in next week for chef Umarak’s guide to cooking elemental creatures!
