I remember earlier this year on the bus rides to school the radio would play the song “Love Yourself” nonstop. It always seemed liked they picked that particular moment to play that song which was super annoying.

While his songs back then were cookie-cutter teen love garbage, his new songs are a bit better. I really don’t find them catchy, however. They seem to fit into the “Bop” category, which is a mundane night-club soundtrack mixed in a combination of rap and hip hop which in my opinion sounds awful and unfinished.

I feel like he did a ton of awful stuff and fell off everyone’s radar. Then he said “oh i m so sorry” on some talk show, dropped Purpose, and now everyone loves him again, despite the fact that he’s still a huge jerk.

His new music is actually really good if you listen to it with the idea he’s talking to his entire audience. It’s got a whole “I don’t even care at this point, I’ll do what I want” sort of vibe to it.
