Keeping Bionicle Alive Past 2017

I recently came up with an idea for ensuring bionicles survival pat 2017. I’m not saying stop the whole journey to one thing, I’m just saying here’s another thing we can do that isn’t just buying the sets or watching the netflix show. the thing we could do is essentially spread the word of bionicle through social media or word of mouth. increasing generation 2’s public presence. Just hopping on to what ever social media platform you use and saying you recently watched a show on netflix called Bionicle; The journey to one and you think that others should watch it as well could do the trick. I’m merely asking the community at large to spread the word of Bionicle because the more people know about the theme, the more chance there is of it surviving and the more chance of us being able to talk about our passion without people asking what it is, or for context (another pro of this). So yeah, please get on that, I know we have the man power to do so.
Also if you have any other ideas for spreading the word of bionicle or keeping it alive past 2017, fell free to leave them in this topic.

Also, if you can, politely suggest to people that they should buy the sets, don’t be to aggressive with this because people may think that the community is toxic if you just say “BUY ALL THESE THINGS OR ELSE” maybe go with the "you should give these sets a try and check them out "approach instead if you want to convince people to buy the sets. Happy replying.

Then just tell your friends

That wouldn’t go over too well. My friends are mainly gamer athletics. Yes, that’s a thing, in my school, at least.

If you can spread the word somehow, it would definitely be better than keeping quiet, INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS

I’ll try my best. I mean, I already have been.

I understand your desire to help Bionicle, its admirable - however i think the only way to attempt to get the line to continue would be through purchasing the sets.

If a lot of people see the Netflix series then that would show the Netflix series is popular, yet if nobody is buying the sets as a result of watching it, then it wont really convince Lego to spend more.

Netflix’s JTO is designed to advertise Bionicle - the sales of the sets are what will determine if the line continues past 2017.

If you want to help keep Bionicle alive, then there needs to be a surge in sets brought this year. Lego will attribute that to the Netflix series (whether its accurate or not) and then proceed to green light another year of Bionicle.

Though it would have to be this year, ideally with the Winter Wave. By the time the Summer wave is released they may have already decided on whether or not to continue the line given they start working on things over a year in advance.

My frame of thinking was more, people would see the show, get interested then buy the sets, either way increasing the themes public awareness would definitely attribute to more sets bought.

True, i just think we’ve reached the stage where it needs to be an immediate increase in sales to convince them. Things on the Bionicle front have been fairly silent and other than JTO we’ve heard nothing, no real promotions this year other than the Russian polybag.

For Bionicle to survive after 2017, its media and literary works should not be monopolized by LEGO alone. It should expand into other genres, other writers and other limitations that the ones LEGO had put and are hindering greatly the series.

As in Bionicle should do what Transformers, My Little Pony, DC, Marvel have done, as in let Bionicle expands its media and literary influence to not just being a Toyline with a lacklusteredly attached storyline.

Definitely, this is certainly a good idea. I will certainly spread the word.

i want bionicle to stay alive. the last thing i want is another HF…

I hope a real Bionicle fan buys the IP and makes it successful again through story telling, and then gives Lego the right to make sets. One can only dream.

I don’t think you understand economics…

Shots fired.

By fan i meant a company that cares and sees the potential of the IP :P. I don’t think Lego will ever reboot Bionicle after G2 so I wouldn’t see how selling the IP would be out of the question.

Eh, Bionicle can die after 2017 for all I care, as long as I get HF 2.0 (2.0)

I just hope that when Bionicle ends, and it will. That we get another worthy successor to HF and the CCBS system, not just the boring, dull, uninspired Star Wars sets.

That was sarcasm, right?

Hell no, Hero Factory should just stay dead.

These are some pretty nice and basic suggestions, things that I’m sure most of us already do like buying sets or introducing it to friends.

That being said there are often times I don’t want to buy more sets than I usually do (this year being a prime example), or that I don’t want to like my public profile to Bionicle in fear of looking weird.

Instead I prefer to focus on spreading Bionicle through content creation. Writing, art, animation, MOCs, I make things to hopefully pique some random user’s interest.
