Kill la Kill

Kill la Kill was an anime created by Studio Trigger that started on October 2013 and ended on March 2014. And let me just say, it is AWESOME (hence my current avatar).

Feel free to discuss this fantastic piece of art, but don’t lose your way in the process.

It’s made by Gainax alumni, so it’s good in my book.
Although I do need to continue from the 2nd episode.

I’ll still need to finish it…

Kill la Kill was great. Need to watch the OVA at some point.

The OVA was worth the wait, imo

Certainly one of my favorite animes when it comes to visuals.

From referencing the anime that I have watched the art style is very unique. It almost has a course texture to it, which really suites the tone of the show.

Oh hey wow, I didn’t know there was a topic about KLK

This was an awesome show, even though the ending was rushed

I suppose I could give my two cents on Kill la Kill.
For those who don’t like or shouldn’t be exposed to anything naughty, here’s a summary: don’t watch Kill la Kill.

I don’t like Kill la Kill. Well, I did enjoy the first episodes, the setting, the characters, the over-the-top visuals etc., but that enjoyment withered when Ragyo was introduced. (Or should I say given more screen time? She was first seen in episode 6 or something, but she didn’t ruin my experience back then.) That scene with Ragyo molesting Satsuki ruined the impression of the show trying to criticize the over-sexualization of female characters and made the excessive fanservice feel bad. Even with the smart metaphors the show just felt stupid and hard to enjoy without turning your brain off. And honestly, I just wasn’t able to do so after episode 16. The last thing I enjoyed and thought was clever in KLK, the scene where Satsuki turns against her mother, came right after that scarring episode.

EDIT:
I actually got a pretty good response to my rant from Digibro which I would like to share:

"The whole point of the Ragyo scene was to make you uncomfortable though, so it sounds like it did its job. Didn’t it make it that much more cathartic when Satsuki got her revenge? "

That comment helped me understand that repulsive scene’s contribution to the series. I liked how amplified the series was with pretty much everything, but that scene was when the show went too extreme for me. I just didn’t get enough good out of it to make it worth viewing, but since I’m not a huge fan of dropping shows I’ve gone half way through, I decided to finish KLK. Still wouldn’t recommend the series.

I’ll be honest: that episode made me feel really uncomfortable…

That was the point.

I tend to multitask if watching anything, so I was probably distracted during that episode and don’t recall the specifics, but I do remember that it was certainly disconcerting.

I love it cant you tell.

I recently finished watching KLK a few months ago and I really enjoyed it! Built a Bionicle Senketsu and Nui Harime.

There also might be a Kill La Kill video game coming out but it’s just a possibility.

It’s less coming out and more like Platinum wants to make that or a Berserk game.

Yeah. Nui Harime basically has been revived and has a kamui of her own in my Bionicle/HF story. She really hates my Self Moc, Orion Stargazer and wants revenge. Her Kamui’s name is Katakichii (which translates to revenge/vengeance I believe).

Also made the Scissor Blades and can combine Too

Can you show us pictures? I’m really curious to see her now :open_mouth:

@Helioskrill maybe @OrionStargazer should make his own moc topic for it
