It’s supposed to be a grapple gun.
I personally think it looks more like that than anything Lego has actually used it for.

That’s a good question…
But that’s actually a good question for the writers, I’m pretty sure he can fly, using the jetpack that is in the wings.
He had a jetpack at one point…
