Granted, I originally read that as “100% of LEGO’s revenue”, which is much harder to believe.

Not so! It would mean that production/maintenance costs outweighed the money they made on those things.

But if nobody wants their products, not much they can do.
Think about it like an accountant: let’s say it costs 50 million dollars to license and produce this year’s Star Wars sets.
But for whatever reason, people have lost interest in LSW, and they only sell 45 million dollars of products.
My understanding is that something along those lines happened in 2003.

Scala, a LEGO Theme that was similar to Barbie Dolls, was originally a line of LEGO-Branded Jewelry.
